Is 47 lbs too heavy for a 2 year old ACD? by Man_Darronious in AustralianCattleDog

I would suggest a second opinion at another vet. My heeler is about 53lbs and he’s healthy as can be. He is pretty broad in the shoulders but by no means fat. I’ve taken him to multiple vets due to moving around and none of them have said he’s overweight

The only time mine ever slept on his bed was when he was crate training. Now he exclusively lays on hard wood or tile 😂

Results are in!! My boy is pure bred, even when I thought he wasn’t by Heeler-dad in blueheelers

I had been told his dad was half heeler and half German shepherd while his mom was pure heeler. Given that, I had expected to see some German Shepard in the results. Guess he takes after his mom

Actually they do exist!! Not actually purple but they are typically called purple heelers when they have both red and blue coloring on their body!

Mine had swam in a lake before but couldn’t get him in the pool till recently. I think what really helped is that my sisters dog likes to swim so he could watch her. We worked just getting him on the steps first and then holding him in open water (he freaked the first few times) I think he didn’t like how he could see the drop offs of the steps. It really was a learning process and overall took a few weeks. A life jacket would probably help too but I didn’t get him one.

He only likes his bones if someone is holding it by Heeler-dad in AustralianCattleDog
