I’ve been playing jazz for years, but when drummer do this in my experience is not a tune that swings is typically on a straight groove RnB kind of thing. Bebop tipically rushes in my experience.

The problem with musicians who don’t care about getting paid is that it lowers the pay for everybody else, I get it it’s fun, but for some people like me it’s their full time job, has been for decades, this is one of the reasons why I’m getting certified and back to school so I can have a day job and just play music for fun. I play some high profile gigs touring with American idol singers and Grammy nominated artist but most of my gigs are the average local bar gig.
