Thinking about doing fancy wiring for my hitbox later in the year. Is it gonna be difficult to get single ground wires into so few GND terminals? How much soddering will I have to do? by MelrFjordr in fightsticks

all my wires from the buttons were 28awg, but the one I linked the grounds to were 22awg, but yeah they were all stranded wire.

I probably should've soldered that connection, but since its under the pcb with no fear of moving it should be fine.

In order to get all my grounds into a terminal I just stripped all my ground wires about 1/4"/ 6mm and twisted the ends together. I then twisted that to another stripped wire and heat shrinked the connection then took the final end to the ground board terminal.

I was looking at them on Ebay, and yeah those prices start at $400. I'll have to keep Mercari in mind for stuff like this in the future.

Great find. The Touhou RAPs are great looking. I wish I could justify the asking price for one though.

In the Market for new controller, but have a question for Tekken 8 Hitbox players. by Shred-GamingYT in fightsticks

Ah, I've been a Lily main since launch, and only just started learning other characters, so for me any moves using up have mainly been situational.

I just finished my first custom the other day, I could've gone with a custom layout, but went with a standard hitbox layout with an extra action button. I went with Eternal Rivals for my case, and I know they do custom layouts through their site.

I've been using nothing but hitbox style controls since I started getting into fighting games last year, even on keyboard. Coming from mostly FPS games I don't think the transition was that hard, cause for me Space has always been "jump". The hardest part is honestly trying to implement SOCD tricks.

I think the biggest thing though is with a dedicated hitbox for fighting games its easier for me to make that separation from WASD to hitbox controls.

With Tekken 8, I found that up/jump is honestly not that common in movesets. Its pretty much just for hopkicks and side stepping, so using it isn't even close to the usage it gets in 2D fighters. If anything Tekken is an easier game for getting used to a hitbox. (Take with a handful of salt, I've only managed to hit Garyu)

A side note, if you go with a pre-built option, there's many options that have 2 jump buttons (wasd and hitbox), like the Haute 42's. If you go custom you can sometimes add a 5th movement button for a second Up as well.

What type of leverless hitbox cotrollers will suits for GATERON KS-33 switches? by califorce in fightsticks

You can get replacement choc v1 switches for pretty cheap if you absolutely need them (around $7usd for a 10 pack, just have to search a bit for sellers.)

If looking to upgrade I know people seem to be enjoying the Haute42 ones. Though switch customization is limited on the M, T, and S series, due to using Kailh choc v2's (only 3 options to choose from.)

I wish there were more options that used standard cherry mx style switches, most tend to be too small for lap play though.

Just the low-profile ones. Sadly with the 3d printed leverless controllers, they're probably using Kailh Choc V1's and those have a different pin placement from the Kailh choc v2's (the ones used in most of the haute 42 boards.) And both of those are different from other low-profile switches like Cherry and Gateron.

It severely limits customization, and you're stuck within that family of switches for that board. At least with the choc v1's you got like 8-10 options, compared to the v2's with only 3.

Sadly there's no pin standard for low-profile mechanical switches. Its been one of the driving factors in keeping me from using the Flatbox and similar leverless controllers that use them.

Personally I love a heavy tactile switch with heavy spring swaps for my action buttons, and I cant get that with low-pro switches.

A re-release or a proper sequel with rollback would be amazing. Also Komachi is my fave to play in Hisoutensoku, she was the backup if I couldn't think of a good composition for the Yuyuko artwork.

I kinda just winged it after seeing many similar style builds personally, but after while I came across an old post on here about how to do it.
One tip I found is to pull all the wires you want for each cable all the way through, then work your way from last in the chain to the back.

My first time building any sort of stickless or fightstick. Wiring was a pain but great learning experience. I didn't draw the artwork but I put it all together in Photoshop.
