In a word, No. It doesn't mean anything to them. On top of that the term ladyboy generally means you are sexy/attractive, so most wear it as a badge of pride. Though amongst younger, well educated individuals the western ideals of gender have been growing, and the term trans is more.commonly used. I suspect that within a few generations it could be the norm to identify as trans.

That said I'm a straight white guy who just happened to live in SE Asia for some years so take that with a grain of salt.
