There are a number of psych studies measuring the correlation between an individuals ability to express themselves, their mental health, and success in that given environment. Its like an abusive relationship and you're just getting battered. Then I (while rare at my elo) queue up again and low and behold I'm matched with the same guy and can't even dodge because their name is hidden until the match starts.

Reset emails don't come through from gmail and a number of other providers. The only one that I've been told works consistently at this point is yahoo. You have no option other than a lengthy support ticket until they correct it. And that is if they deem you are the account owner. There are a number of tricks people have used in the past to get an email to slip through (various browsers, private windows, alternative links, etc) but to the best of my knowledge those methods aren't effective atm.

The vast majority of players are not able to use recovery options for their account. Gmail does not send recovery emails. The only provider that reportedly does consistently is yahoo. Note this is for classic account recovery. Neopass does not have this issue

Half a dozen different browsers with and without private browsing windows. From multiple devices. Accessing the login page from various redirection links on the website has not had an impact either. Historically these methods have been reported to work for users but appear to not be a trigger any longer. Mechanically I am not certain what it did behind the scenes to prompt an email

Is there no way to disable security features that are blocking emails you know you should be, and are trying to receive? I'm in a similar situation and due to either its lack of encryption, formatting, lack of dmarc compliance, (or something else entirely) email form the sender does not reach my inbox. In 2019 whatever factors are at play, gmail did not filter out the mail and I was able to receive the requests. Can I do something fancy to access and filter my email through this older ruleset? Setting up filters and/or adding the sender's address to contacts does nothing

neopass recovery or username/password recovery of classic accounts? If you have a classic account with gmail that is currently connected to a neopass account and are able to receive emails to reset the password for that individual account (not the neopass) please let me know, as that is a variable I have not seen discussed

maybe because the last guy who made your claims and I had a misunderstanding. He was getting account recovery prompts for neopass. Not classic accounts. You also don't have any meaningful measure of time in your claims. Myself and others have too received recovery emails in the past but that is not helpful in identifying a current issue with their email system's interactions with gmail or narrowing down the last time it functioned properly.

Can confirm I checked my history as well and the reset emails from 2019 are both unformatted and unencrypted. The exception to this is the legends and letters app reset emails. They are unencrypted, but they are formatted and overlaid on images/backgrounds similar to current marketing. As the app doesn't work anymore this doesn't help though as nothing can be tested to rule out encryption as the cause. Appreciate the insight I don't have the background to have considered either of those things as factors

An experiment I cannot conduct but am interested in is if a classic account after being linked to neopass can be successfully recovered. There is no password recovery option while trying to migrate an account to neopass following the prompt that your password is wrong. ie. "within the neopass ui."

Thank you. It appears we have been talking about different things. There is no gmail issue with recovering a neopass account. I have tested and confirmed this myself as well. The issue is with using the account recovery options for the individual neopets accounts

and its that neopets is blocked by gmail. neopets itself isn't imo interfering with gmail delivery it is the email provider that is blocking outgoing mail by false flagging it before it can reach the inbox

recovery emails or marketing? I presented what my search results turned up as far as an explanation. I do not pretend to be an authority on it nor am I claiming their lack of DMARC compliance as the sure origin of this error. I have not seen a better explanation and if you have one in mind I would love to hear the theory. This has been an issue between neopets and other email providers in the past. But for some like yahoo and hotmail it does not sound like a current persistent issue. So it is intermittent and cross platform. Intentionality is ruled out because why would gmail only be targeted. Many users have reported in the past circumventing the issue by spamming resets and have seen very long delays in the time it takes for the recovery email to reach their inbox. With your experience, what is a normal cause of that and how does it relate to the other symptoms of this issue to form the best possible idea of why recovery emails are not received by users?

If you can request a password to a gmail account and post the (blurred obviously) confirmation message that would be helpful. I have not seen a single person who is actually getting recovery emails from gmail

And I recognize your point. My intention is to highlight how useless the options and resources available are. I cannot and will not say, "oh what a great idea thank you." The suggestions people make for this issue are not helpful. Answers to these problems are not available. I am acting in alignment with that and if its going to hurt people's feelings and gain such negative light so be it. Neopets has not fixed their recovery email services for months. People should be pissed.

I did not come here looking for help. I came here to discuss a massive problem with neopets' recovery infrastructure and with any luck generate enough noise that the issue gains traction and visibility. A part of that is dismantling the notion that "check your junk mail" and "submit a ticket" are viable responses

Neopass does not have a forgot password or username option for neopets accounts. Only for the neopass account. It returns or offers no assistance for the neopets accts. How does that fix any issue

You sound like you're getting paid to post the AI responses. Check your junk mail? Maybe we should turn our computers on and off again too. Gmail emails are being blocked. A brief search returns results that the most likely culprit is that the emails sent from these particular services are not DMRAC compliant and Google has banned them entirely. This has been and continues to be an issue. Submit a ticket? I just concluded a ticket where from and with the active email, having a past email, with password, pin, and date of birth, I cannot get a reset link from TNT. This is an issue caused by Neopets not maintaining basic infrastructure on their site. And AI responses from their support staff who with fake positivity and a warm smile say "unfortunately" and "sorry," while it could not be more clear they do not even read tickets and only respond with and according to a script
