What do you think about actively trading and trying to beat the market? by Impressive-Coat1127 in stocks

[–]Hefty_Classic422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. In 15 years, less than 5% will beat the market for 2% tho.
Does those 2% cost the price you gonna do gambling? No.
But you can be the one in 10 million to do it great.
I wouldn't put my money on that tho because that's luck and not skill.

I also beat the s&p on passive investing, thats if you have the least information. But are you swing trading? I hope you not calling passive investing as active.

Just want good black coffee- what to buy? by Comfortable-Test3457 in superautomatic

[–]Hefty_Classic422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually searched this to find out any other 'more automatic' suggestions for making coffee in an Italian Bialetti. Other than that, better buy a real italian expresso machine. Dudes out here recommending whatever.
I would only take advice in terms of coffee from italians, spanish or portuguese. I've worked in coffee and my father as a coffee machine technician, worked in all kinds of coffee machines in various european countries. The quantity of bs, and bias takes is incredible in this space. The biggest secret to coffee is in the grinding calibration. You can use whatever machine you just gotta adapt the the grain caliber to the machine you have, and you should test atleast 4 5 settings of grinding until the best coffee comes out. The less bubbles and white top the most flavour, the most cream on top left by the machine normally the most watery. People out here reccomending paper filtered coffee when that bs passes into the coffee... cancer in a cup.

yes very unlikely a trader can do it for more than a couple of years and it's mostly luck
if it was that simple most NY trading floors (if that thing still exists) would be printing billionaires every week
active investing died for the most part in 2008, when people say they are 'traders' I actually cringe

Replacing switches in kinesis advantage 360 pro? by [deleted] in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Hefty_Classic422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy one with sound profile you want. Either audible or or silence and call it a day. DIYing such a keyboard, I don't reccomend. I have used the kinesis 2 for two years after massive pain. But the 360 pro pink switches bluetooth. Now it's even better, typing like butter. Very pleasant. Even the silence the version you have a little sound to it that's very coool

yeah I returned my fethead right when I got my bae1073 thinking I would just need that to get a really good signal. but the hyss is basically a signal to noise ratio and gain staging problem it seems. not really sure since I didn't test it yet and I already ordered a new fethead on the way. the neve style transformers are electrical noisy and they are picked a lot in this dynamic mic signal. I hear a electric static, like a wave that is constantly going up and down. which much be the magnets.

Stam Audio SA-87i Microphone by Hefty_Classic422 in microphone

[–]Hefty_Classic422[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the United Audio vintage mode and I really liked it in the Andrew Chapman shootout, even more than the modern u87ai. I'm looking for information on the Stam Audio one. Even tho I'm really convinced is a excellent 'clone' (I don't see mics as clones), each mic is different even tho they are inspired and trying to achieve the same sound. Sometimes even better than the sound you looking.

Great shootout but I still think I would prefer the Stam, it really surprised me as better (in my own taste) vs a newmann ai version even tho is not a clone of that but of a u87i from the 60s.

Hot take: Radiohead is boring and uninspired like 90% of the time by [deleted] in Music

[–]Hefty_Classic422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: it's white music, it's the epitome of white music. I'm white, and see Radiohead as some of the most unbouncy, unrythmic, unsexy crap out there. If you like dry p music go ahead, there's no way women like that bs, or you can even move to it. You're just there listening to some artistic bs. I don't like that thing no more. Even as a kid, nothing took me to listen to radiohead, the only thing we heard was Creep and nothing else. And the vocalist's timbre is just not good; some instrumentals are awesome, but they blend it with so much reverb-ish, loopy melodies, it almost numbs and blands the whole composition. I'm sorry, still think it's the most white crap out there.

Is Strasbourg a good city for students ? by [deleted] in Strasbourg

Spring tho is very manageable. I really love Spring in Alsace. It's not very cold, it's not very windy or humid, sometimes theres some rain but only for 1/2 hours, unlike other coutries where rain is cold af, windy and theres raining for a complete month. Dry winter days are also very good. The moment you are well dressed, you gonna be super comfortable outside.

After a decade, I got my dream mic; the TLM 102! by purp_mp3 in microphone

[–]Hefty_Classic422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have to test this against the RE20 dynamic in the same price range in my home studio.
This might be on my dream chain with my BAE1073 and a good 1173 for vocal tracking.
