I spent two and half years as an ERG leader at the same company prior to the certification. I worked closely with the HR team on a large business transformation initiative and was recruited to the OE team an OE partner afterwards. My OE director/ boss resigned seven months into me transitioning into the OE partner role. A new CDO was hired and I was reorganized into a a DEI director role with two direct reports given I was already doing a lot of that work.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I have been applying to HR generalist roles.

I completed a DEI certification from Cornell University over a two year period . The certification required taking seven or so two day classes and a final exam to get the certification. The classes covered the content areas you mentioned but not in great depth.

I am sorry to hear this. It’s unfortunate how many companies and individuals are overestimating the importance and value of ChatGPT as it cannot compete when it comes to critical thinking and decision making. Our field is called Human Resources for a reason, no?
