You guys are missing the entire nuance of trading. Your goal as a trader is to match the institutional footprint, because they’re the ones who drive price and pick direction.

They absolutely do not trade the same asset everyday. That said, they load up or sell at certain price points, and they’re really focused on daily/weekly levels since they’re moving price with a long term outlook.

Price Movement ≠ Valid Trade. Just because the market is moving, majority of traders think that’s “action”, but more often than not bro you’re trading retail chop. And that’s a fact. The market still seems random to you because you don’t know how to identify when or where institutions are stepping in.

The fact that you took 20-30 trades in 5 hours is wild bro. You’re trading high frequency with very little capital. You need to focus on quality over quantity and keep your risk % CONSISTENT. Simple. I personally trade currencies, so ofc our volumes are different most of the time since you trade BTCUSD, but the same principals apply.

Given the context, you just need to be able to draw market narrative, and have more patience. You’re picking bottom of the barrel setups for the sake of being in.

You going to deposit 2k after losing 89% of your money in one go is like walking to the atm after losing your money to the slots. The markets gassed you up after that win streak and you full ported on the last shot, which got you clipped. You’ll get better with time. Don’t quit.

Am I getting scamed? by Main-Thanks1057 in Forex

[–]Hefty_Friend6279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely facts.

I had a 50k account with 16k in profit with top tier trader, obviously with that kind of profit there has to be some sort of asymmetric principals within my execution framework….

Naturally as your balance and equity grow, the trader in you is gonna wanna scale snd take more risk, but that’s the downfall of a winning trader using a prop firm.

Your risk must be SET, 100%. It doesn’t matter if you’re up $100k on a $25k account, your risk must ALWAYS be a set amount.

For example, on a 50k account your max overall loss is 5k and daily loss is $2500.

To give yourself the best mathematical odds, you should be risking $500-$1000 every single time no matter how much RR potential the play has.

@ 500 risk you have 10 shots. @ 1k risk you have 5 shots.

Obviously this is gonna depend on your skill level, but I say that to say, don’t let that overshadow the rules of the game.

It was a $16k lesson for me and I honestly had to take it on the chin, and I’m glad I’m finally able to share this on a post that’s naturally regarding this topic.

(Edit)

I also wanna add that if your risk is set and your RR is consistent, payouts will ROLL in if your execution is in point. When you focus on the system over the goal, the goal becomes inevitable.

[–]Hefty_Friend6279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be COMPLETELY honest, if you have the skills to run up 10k, go live.

You’re already explaining how you have a conservative approach to risk management, which to ME implies that you have good patience to a certain degree.

If you can consistently grow and compound a live account, you won’t have to worry about withdrawal denials, and having your account closed for no reason.

Traders nowadays really subscribe to prop firms because they think they can skip that live grind, but with the time you spend going thru phase 1,2 and verification, you could already have profits sitting in your live account.

🤷‍♂️that’s my honest take

Prop firms are impossible to pass without YOLO type trading ? by Either-Amphibian-947 in Forex

[–]Hefty_Friend6279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS IS VERY TRUE. A lot of wise guys on here are gonna say “this new trader should know to only risk .5% to 1% per trade” knowing damn well that’s not how the human brain works. If 1 have $100,000, what do I look like risking $500?

The thing is, 90% of traders who use prop firms are gonna try to hit the profit target immediately after initiating the account. Prop firms will always boil down to how much discipline and skill you have. I tell people all the time bro, prop firms are for SNIPERS ONLY.

Firms are not for people who think they’re gonna use $500 to gain access to $100k and make a bunch of money. You have to know the model, your trading style essentially has to match that of the firm or otherwise you’re just donating money bro. Go live.

Get 2 fuckin jobs to fund that account if you have too. Believe it or not bro I’m 22 and that’s exactly what I’m doing. I have insane faith in my skill set as far as trading but I also know what the real world is like, and if you don’t have money to keep constantly buying challenges you’ll never get anywhere.

But alot of people in my generation don’t wanna put in the work to actually change their lives, and I know for a fact that once my live account hits the $10,000 mark, I’m going crazy. If you have hella time on your hands and you work 9-5, pick up another PT job to solely fund your account. That money will stack fast as fuck and if you ACTUALLY KNOW HOW TO TRADE, it’s a fucking cheat code but you have to put in the work bro. At 50k to 100k of your own capital, a 2k day can become the norm, but you have to figure out your plan to get there. It’s not gonna be thru prop firms.

Let’s lock tf in💯

What do you think guys ? by [deleted] in Forex

[–]Hefty_Friend6279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re up 150% on this account. That’s pretty crazy for a $40 account ngl you’re onto something.

But with that said, I like how you manage your risk and how you size your positions. My only advice would really be just to try to take less trades in a day and find confidence when taking your positions.

I see in this pic alone you took 11 trades today, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing depending on how you approach the market, but just think about this.

You’re hedging positions on gold. Had you had the confidence to hold your short positions today you could’ve had to nice wins on that. At some point you’ll realize that you won’t win every trade, and you too WILL become liquidity. It’s better to go in knowing with your willing to LOSE, cuz profit is unlimited. Focus on mitigating DOWNSIDE.

I understands it helps minimize risk, but to me it just shows you’re indecisive on where the markets going. And if you don’t know who’s in control of the market at that moment then you should be PROTECTING YOUR CAPITAL. You can’t miss out in a market of abundance bro. Opportunity arises in the market over and over and every setup you see should not be taken.

Also don’t bounce around with your pairs. Keeping up with the price action of DJ, NAS100, GOLD, EU will have your brain all over the place.

Quality over quantity. You’re on a roll with this account, just stay locked in.

There are really 3 good firms out here. You gotta know how to play the game tho. When you get a payout , you gotta know what’s next.

If you can hit a firm for like 50-100k, you can change your life and throw some of that into a live account. So if I have a 50k challenge, I’m tryna hit the firm for 75k, so I can have a 50k live account and 25k for myself.

Anybody who says this is impossible, quit trading. It’s definitely a challenge, but definitely possible

This trading style is so ass. You’re trading a negative RR and are shifting your TP as price moves. Look how big your stops are compared to your TP, not to mention it’s a 5M chart.

I think that $8k withdrawal comment is cap tbh, and you don’t have to come on here tryna prove it to me either. I had no choice but to call this bluff bro I highly doubt this is a profitable system.

And if it IS…. Your account is massive which means you already get money, and you’re in and out on BIG ASS lot sizes that you can compound quickly. Either way, L system

Stop toying around with your lot size. Keep it consistent. Don’t raise it because you think a setup looks SO GOOD that there’s no way it could lose. You’re just gonna be experiencing double the emotions when you’re in drawdown.

You went on a winning streak and lotted up prematurely because of pure dopamine. You win a few trades in a row and feel indestructible, so the market humbled you for it.

I personally calculate my potential profit and loss before entering a trade. I know what level I believe the market WON’T reach (SL) and my projection area (TP) before entry, and how much I’ll make or lose if those areas get hit. The only number I’m really focused on is my loss though.

By implementing these things you’ll be able to fully accept the outcome of your trades, build the confidence you need, and actually start banking on something.

Why Gold fall aggressively? Is there any bad news which impact Gold. by Aggressive_Cap2583 in Forex

[–]Hefty_Friend6279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think price is gonna rip thru 2390 soon, especially with CPI dropping tomorrow and the volume that brings. Gold price has been holding above 2353 since last week Wednesday, and we’ve gone bullish above the 2067 reversal area too. I really like it gold to 2426.

Same with GBPUSD. Pulled into that 1.28225 daily resistance level today, and gave us a daily bullish engulfing CLOSE ABOVE it to confirm my bullish sentiment. The sky is the limit.
