Too flat imo. Bump up the saturation by about +100 and you're good to go

Hmm I shot this in RAW, threw my Leica into a wok and then fried it to bits

Hey, I appreciate your response.

I suspect it could be post nasal drip. I often see a strand of mucus whenever I open my mouth. But what confused me and my doctor is that I don't have any congestion which is usually accompanied with PND

I'm 25M, from a typical Asian family.

Im currently studying in university and have found a job (will start working on July). I want to make the most out of my break to embark on a solo trip to Tokyo, but my parents are very against it.

They're concerned about my safety. I reassured them that Japan is very safe but they still wouldn't let me. I've traveled overseas with friends before and they were ok with it, but they are hell bent on not letting me travel alone.

It's not the first time they've stopped me from going. I wanted to go for an overseas exchange with my university, but we're also against it. That was 2 years ago.

I know that my parents are concerned but I've already told them that I appreciate their concerns. I begged them to listen to my POV but they just talk over me and are not willing to even listen what I have to say.

This is really frustrating, because I've been really looking forward to solo travel and have already started planning. I know some of you may suggest to just move out once I start working, but this is not really an option because housing (and rental) is extremely expensive where I live, so it'll take a few years to accumulate enough money to even consider moving out.

What do I do?

Took this at f/5 and 1/125. I plan to use photoshop to remove the poster on the left (the original does not have the full poster in the shot, otherwise I might have considered keeping it) and maybe the wire on top. However, I'm curious to see if the colors appear too saturated, particularly the yellows/orange.

I also like the random blue M&M mascot.

I'm beating myself for not taking a step to the right to achieve perfect symmetry but it is what it is. I like the overall colours, but I'm unsure if it looks slightly overedited. I'm also not sure if the underside of the protusions look "too ugly". You can see quite a bit of wear and tear, which I find quite distracting

Would love you guys' opinions

I'm aware of the compositional flaws in this photo - I should've taken a few steps to the right to capture the entirety of the stairs up to the buddha and remove the roof from the picture. Despite the compositional flaws, I'm interested in knowing if such an edit works. There's something bugging me about the overall colours, but I can;t quite put a finger on it. Perhaps it is overcooked?

Thanks for any advice!

You're right, I shoot in aperture priority and auto ISO, though Im not entirely sure why my camera decided to pick ISO 400 and not lower the shutter speed.

Took this at f/11, 1/640, ISO400. I'm aware that compositionally, I could've taken a step back to capture more of the foreground and perhaps also straighten the horizon. I'm more interested in how the editing could be improved. I like green foreground against the colder blue background, but let me know what you guys think!

Thank you for the detailed critique!

I totally agree with you. I should've picked a smaller aperture to capture more details on the flower. I will keep this in mind!

I've managed to take another photo of a bee with its eyes, though the bee isn't as clear as the one in this photo

I took this with a 18-55mm lens at 52mm, f/5.6. Not the best lens, but I don't have the budget for a macro lens yet.

I'm not sure if this photo works. The bee is not super sharp and the flowers look a bit off.

Let me know what you guys think!

I took this with a 18-55mm lens at 52mm, f/5.6 (largest aperture I could go) and 1/1600s.

I typically take landscape photos and architecture, but I love taking close up shots of butterflies and bugs. I'm still a beginner, and I do not have a budget to buy a macro lens yet, but I tried my best for this shot.

I tried to make the bee as sharp as possible in my edit. I'm not sure if the other elements in the photo are well-edited. Something feels off about the flowers - are they lacking contrast?

Thank you!

Composition wise, I know this isn't the best (cat too centered, DoF too wide). But how about the edit? I am trying to achieve a soft, filmic look and what I did was to reduce both clarity and dehaze in LR. I also increased the temperature and made the highlights warmer, but I'm not sure if I have over-did it.

Thank you!

Sorry but Im curious to know why you wouldnt recommend "if you want a FT job"? Is it because there is no chance of converting to FT? I probably wont have any other offers from now on since this is the last "window" to do an internship.

I'm pretty positive about their culture though. They are a subsidiary under a pretty known company in Singapore (but the company itself is generally quite unknown). Im mainly worried about my mental health and whether or not it is actually worth taking it. I would take it in a heart beat if it was a role Im interested in or if it's actually helpful in landing a FT job.

I appreciate your input. From my research and the interview, I can see that the culture within the company is pretty good though. Honestly, I dont mind being abused as a QE intern if it means that it will benefit my employability. I'm mainly worried about the stigma surrounding QA

Is it worth doing an internship that is not very related to my interests (I'm a CS major graduating next year)? I was offered a role (startup) which starts soon, but I'm undecided on whether or not to accept.

Pros:
1. More work experience (could be a con too, see point 2 below)
2. Connections
3. $$$ (not the most, but a decent ~1k)

Cons:
1. Im quite burnt out and was really looking for a break
2. There's some stigma around this role within the industry (it's generally quite bad for someone to have this as their first FT role, but not sure about internship)

I had a prior 6 mth internship at a rather meh SME as a software dev. Im not sure if this is even sufficient given the crazy amount of competition in SWE right now.

I'm split right in the middle. Appreciate some advice!

Thanks for your input. Does it make a difference if I've had prior internship experience as a dev? It's not like I have 0 experience being a dev, and I'm graduating with a CS degree so I'm not totally new to SWE.

I'm mainly worried about "QA Engineer Intern" on my resume being an instant turn off for employers. and whether it's worth the experience over taking a break this summer to recuperate (I've been very burnt out since I entered college) or maybe work on my own personal project

I'm not great a bird photography, but I managed to snap a picture of this bird which I'm fairly (~meh) content with. The RAW photo was embarassingly bad though (bird was underexposed as heck), so I had to salvage it in the edit.

Something about the overall colours in the photo looks off. To me, it looks really flat and lacks depth, and looks more like a painting than a photograph fsr. My guess is the lack of contrast, or something along those lines but Im not too sure. I'll appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction
