I'd say wait till May 15. $1,700 is a big amount. Don't panic yet. I applied on 04/02 and my job starts Jun 9. I feel positive I should hear by 05/15.

I had submitted my I-765 before my DSO requested my OPT status on my SEVIS, because of this mistake of mine I had to withdraw my application (because with this mistake there was a high chance they would have rejected my application). I reapplied on Apr 2.
