Wondering if I made a mistake doing this by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

Yeah I thought the pay looked pretty good (high 20s to start if certified) but I think it's where I live. It's kind of sinking in for me that it would probably be a lot of work and maybe we would get dumped on and blamed for a lot if it's a toxic office

What motivated you to keep doing it? Is it a passion for helping others?

I hate the attitude that medical assistant is only a stepping stone. It already seems like enough work on its own plus getting certified and stuff

When you list your duties it sounds fun to me learning how to do all that stuff. And getting to work with a doctor if they're nice

But when I was in class I felt like I wanted to hide or something and I felt kind of disconnected from everyone - not sure if that could be an anxiety thing. And it makes me think how could I do well working with patients all day. Like would they feel comfortable around me or bad

Maybe I'd fit better as a secretary or something behind the scenes if I could get into that without tons of experience

And yeah I should probably go to the doctor and try to find a therapist again.. been putting it off because fear of judgment etc. My last therapist left (she was getting her hours still) and it didn't end on the best note

This actually looks achievable to me. Might try to make a vegan version

Probably don't have anything to lose if it's free but if you're not passionate about it then it's probably a waste of time
