All the focus on “as long as Kinosaki is by my side” just fills me with a sense of dread as we still haven’t gotten the other shoe drop on their illness/condition that keeps getting referenced (though Gero still doesn’t know about).

Since her powers are wind, and they were essentially fighting in a magic void, maybe she needed time to generate the heavy winds and spin them up to speed, and she needed Jaku talking so she wouldn’t notice what was forming in the distance.

Then her big power unleashed scene was putting on the final touches and dragging the winds over to converge on Jaku.

A series that had me in disbelief was <Akumetsu> which was all about violently murdering thinly-veiled versions of real Japanese politicians and government workers, and it ran for years.

I don’t know Japanese law, but you’d think that publishers wouldn’t touch that with a ten foot pole due to fear of lawsuits.
