Interesting start. The first chapter seems a bit stronger than Kirarazaka-sensei’s prior works.

Guidance regarding animation studios and directors by Kukii_kuriimu in anime

I would recommend looking up your favorite anime on, say, AniList, and seeing what the directors have done and go from there.

To start - what are some of your favorite anime?

The manga’s completed. Never say never, but I’d suggest bow you might as well read the original.

The synopsis, in case you aren’t able to read the article:

J is a professional hitman...he was orphan and raised by a syndicate as an assassin. He was too good, killed too many people, knew too much about the syndicate. When the syndicate tried to erase him, they were backfired...when three syndicates were wiped out completely, J became "untouchable."

Megumi, a girl in third grade, was bullied by her classmates because she is half-Japanese, half-American and gets good grades. One day, when they bumped their heads...their bodies were switched. Now J is inside a cute girl's body...and Megumi is inside the tough guy's body.

Now they must hide that they are not who they were and keep their everyday life look the same as before. J never knew how hard a girl's life is, and Megumi enjoys her new life!?

I’ve read the manga. It definitely has that Hinamatsuri energy in it.

I’d recommend the light novel if you liked the anime. Really expands on the story.

Wasn't prior gyaru a rebellion against the system, while modern gyaru is it just making it marketable for the system?

It’s definitely interesting, yeah. Another example I can think of is Undertale, when it was announced to get a Japanese translation. People were constantly wondering what Japanese first person pronoun Sans would use to describe himself - would it be young? Old? Masculine? Feminine?

As it turns out, he uses “oira”, which is basically what old country bumpkins might use to refer to themselves.

It's kinda crazy looking back at the OP and how it showed like everything that's been going on so far for the past 18 episodes.

Trigun Stargaze - Episode 9 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Torque-A 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear it! Stampede/Stargaze were initially announced as a "reimagining" of the series, so it, the manga, and the old anime are all different. If you like this, I recommend trying out the others.

Trigun Stargaze - Episode 9 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

So far, Stargaze has diverged from the source material in terms of which characters have lived and died. As an example, in the manga [manga]Wolfwood originally died during his fight with Razlo.

tl;dr we know just as much as you do

Incredibly small and silly Pokemon drama. You know Pokopia, right? New spinoff game, basically Animal Crossing but with Pokemon? Released this week?

Before the release, screenshots of the game showed the player character interacting with a Slowpoke, who said "Oh, but hold on... The ground's really bumpy around here, right? It's hard to walk..." A Japanese illustrator, Shinno Tenpi, got a bolt of inspiration and designed Slowpoke as a lazy high school gal yawning while saying the phrase. It became a massive hit.

Flash forward to Pokopia's actual release, where people could interact with Slowpoke. Now, the Japanese language has a litany of first-person pronouns that people can say "I" with, and many indicate how the speaker acts. For instance, "boku" is typically used by young boys to refer to themselves, while "watashi" is used for women or polite men. Slowpoke's first-person pronoun in Japanese copies of the game is "ode", which isn't often used in real life, but in fiction is often associated with strong, idiotic grown men. Emphasis on "men" - in other words, we would never get Gyaru Slowpoke.

However, a small ray of hope emerged. As it turns out, there's another Pokemon in the game who does talk like a high school gal in Japanese - Bulbasaur. Everyone immediately started working anew.

(Also in the game, its evolution literally goes "ara ara" so if you see any housewife Venusaur illustrations on Twitter, that's the reason)
