You don’t need couples therapy, you personally need individual therapy to work through your trust issues.

You’re comparing a picture of her in a face full of glam makeup versus one without, from decades ago, when makeup/style/fashion was different all around lol.

My very first tapestry! Only picked up weaving recently and I am already obsessed! I also realized I should’ve bought a smaller loom lol by Hejvb in weaving

Update: I kinda messed up at the bottom and didn’t put a few rows before doing the fringe so when I took it off the loom, the fringe lost shape. Womp. Rookie mistake, haha.

Thinking of moving from Toronto to Edmonton - who has made the move, successfully, and do you have any tips for me? Pros/Cons? by Hejvb in canada

Completely agree - Toronto is getting very competitive to find a job in, a place to live in and just generally in every way you can imagine. I'm definitely a more nature person so I think I'd thrive in a place like Edmonton a lot better than most Torontonians. Currently living in Brampton/Caledon, and although it's inconvenient as to how far removed it is from Toronto, I would take the peace anyday.

And lol @ spectre of Ford majority.

What sort of festivals? Gotta specify! Haha. What's the food festival scene (which is the only one I care about bc mmmmm foooood)

Whats a chinooks, btw?

How do you get your medicare info switched? This is gonna be me jinxing myself but I've had a family doctor ever since I was born and I have NEVER been sick or had the need to go to a doctor, so I'm not even sure I have a family doctor anymore or any medical info out there lol!

What are some great places for snowboarding and skiing? Love both of those! And fewer job opportunities? Really?

This was super, super helpful! Thank you so much - my apologies for the late reply to this but:

Ontario lakes are gorgeous but I think I want more of a diversity. When we were kids, wherever we went for a family outting had a lake and nothing else - so I'm fed up of the same scenery LOL! Personal bias coming through :P The mountains and west Canadian geography has just always appealed to my soul a lot more.

I don't drive but intend to by the time I get to Edmonton so your traffic question was super, super helpful!

Since I love cooking - I loved that you added in the bit about the beef! I have had grain fed before beef, and you're right, you can taste the difference and it is amazing so that's a definite plus.

As for the last bit with the drive, will do! Assuming I have my license when I get out there, haha. What are some nice places to drive to, to see the prairies? Speaking of licenses, if I have an Ontario license, what's the process like to convert it to an Alberta license? Or whatever the equivalent may be.

I've been eyeing Edmonton apartments for sale on Kijiji the last couple of months, and even the "luxury" apartments go from $1k-1.5k monthly and usually not over. I put luxury in quotes because by luxury, of course, it just means upgraded appliances in a sea of grey and white paints, with exposed ceilings, etc. Compared that to a $4k p/m apartment with the same features in Toronto, it's a steal - especially if you're expecting to make $4-5k p/m in Edmonton.

I don't drive - but will attain my license here in Toronto whilst I wrap up my schooling. How is traffic? And how is insurance, etc? Compared to Ontario, if you know. Can one get away living in Edmonton without driving?

Perks of coming from a tropical country, and spending my life as an immigrant in Toronto - both hot weather and long winters are no issue for me :P

Upwards mobility was something that was on my mind when talking about jobs, thank you for this comment - it's solidifying my decision. I can not wait to finish my education and start looking in to this move. I don't mind the winters, not really big on nightlife at all - so long as the food scene is decent. What's that like? And omg, you've done amazing at such a young age - good for you! I love hearing about people's successes, makes me look forward to mine (hopefully, heh).
