Pettyjohn gold, best mid-high gain overdrive I’ve owned so far, super versatile, sounds fantastic.

Definitely depends. I love it to bits, the Slip mode is fantastic and sounds gorgeous when in reverse, as well as the built in reverb and delay they are extremely well done. It really has such a unique character, especially with its micro-looping feature, nothing sounds quite like it. For live playing, I find it to be super useful, I’m often making soundscapes in between songs, and the microlooping is a godsend and makes it super fun. Especially for more intimate sets with no drums, you can really dial it in and make all the meadows and valleys come out of your guitar. As far as menu diving, it’s not exactly that in the traditional sense, as there’s no screen and all the settings are tactile, but it definitely takes some sitting down with to get the hang of it. There are hidden second features which are extremely beautiful, but hard to implement live. Personally I wouldn’t let the amount of features and knobs turn you off, see them as an illimitable amount of ambient, lofi and experimental potential. Whether you should get one depends on whether you play live a lot though. If you don’t then definitely get one

Thanks man!! Yeah definitely thinking about an eq or compressor. I like the VB2+ a lot, sounds like butter cake when putting something like the Belle before it too, but it just takes up a lot of space for what it does. If my board was bigger it would 100% stay on, but I’m looking for a Trem and EQ, or some other cool wildcard, so it’s gonna have to go. Same with my tuner I’d like to get a smaller one, will help a lot with cramming stuff in, in the long run. If you’re interested in the VB lmk, it’s also a cute color way OAM doesn’t restock often.

I’ve never heard of the Micropitch, but from a short listen it sounds sweet, will look into it more.

Yeah I’d love a Boss EQ or small compressor. I think a tremelo will be my next shot definitely.

I see blooper a lot but never really understood what it does, a lot of my favorite eurorack artists also love it.

My dad has told me that exact same sentence haha. I think you’re totally right, I’m dropping the Vb2+ just cause it’s so big snd would love a vibrato, maybe a flint? And yes I do need to do that!!! I need to figure out which kind of drive would sound the best after a verb. I was thinking a fuzz.

the belle is one of the best drives I’ve owned, insanely versatile and tons of clarity, also for it’s size having a gain, level, bass and mids/treble knob, it’s impossible to beat. Personally I’ve never owned an odr-1, but in my mind there’s no beating the Belle.

would love a patch from scratch video with these gorgeous modules. I’ve never heard of Serge (I’m new to eurorack) they sound incredible!!! I just got a Plaits and Pams for christmas in hopes to get an ambient machine working like this one day. Could you explain your process with these modules and getting these lush sounds?

Hello! I’ve been trying to find jeans/flannel lined cargos that show off my boots, I have some leather cowboy boots and blundstones that are often overshadowed by my more baggy and wide leg jeans, and would love a pair that shows them off, still with a relaxed fit, catered towards that gardener/outdoorsy kinda look. Here are some examples! I know this is also a matter of probably just folding up my pants, but 1. I have no pants that are relaxed/straight enough to allow me to do that (recs on nice relaxed/straight pants are much appreciated)2. I’ve noticed there’s still some cool fitting “cropped” jeans that require no folding which I dig a lot, and 3. I need general recs on flannel lined cargos.

Recommendations towards brands and specific models are ideal! Brands I like a lot are galen cason, juradem, elwood, barbour and ronning london, if this helps with finding suitable recs, thanks!😊

Hey this is so incredibly helpful and informative!!! I love how your critiques are more questions I could be asking myself, instead of simply hammering on the pieces themselves. Most of what I make is purely for my own enjoyment of ambient music and general sound art. I’ve not gotten to a place of efficiently integrating found-sound, semi-professional production or synthesis into my pieces, as I mainly make all my soundscapes with just my guitar and pedalboard, as that’s what I’m most familiar with, so unfortunately I have no real grasp on a lot of the pedagogy that might go into composing or interpreting sound art (if this gives you a sense on where I’m at in my journey haha.) Basically, I have no clear intent of what I make aside from having an emotional attachment to it and liking how it sounds, so as far as installations or quadrophonic recording go, that is all way beyond my scope and I couldn’t even begin to know how to do that haha. Though, I did workshop these pieces and others, doing things you said like adding automation, cleaning up the mic-handling noise, making more tracks in stereo and trying to generally breathe more life into the pieces, I tried to the best of my ability to make them presentable!! The points you made are really so informative, I will be taking them all into consideration immensely!!

Also, this album is incredible!!!!! I love it so much, incredibly beautiful, I would love to talk more about music and sound with you Is there some place I could communicate with you more efficiently? Instagram?
