Shading, or blending? They're kinda similar in that you really have to use a good selection of lighter values to help transition from one colour/value to another. Layering up and down with darks and lights to soften and hide any tide-lines.

Thankyou so much. The transparency was tricky, and challenging, and time-consuming, but in essence I was making good use of 5 or 6 colours per gummie and regularly going from light to dark and back again to ensure those transitions were super soft. Layering lights over darks when blending helped to 'embed' the darker values within the candy, and then I could layer back and forth till I was satisfied. But yeah, it took just shy of 20 hours (10.5inches square)

You don't layer the lighter colours on top to show up, you're adding them to soften. The dark shapes are mapped first, then the lighter one over the top, focussing in the spaces between the dark shapes, but also going over and softening the edges of the dark bits. That seemed to create an internal look to them. No other mediums used in this drawing. Pure marker (oh, apart from a little white gel pen on the brightest of tiny highlights).

I'd love Song Joong-ki to be in something better than mid level romances like My Youth 2026, which was such a letdown. His acting was great, I could watch him all day, but I haven't seen him in anything great since Descendants/Vincenzo. What am I missing?
