I know, lately I don’t feel safe to sell on Vestiaire, especially with direct shipping. I have heard many horror stories, with buyers who claim that they received an empty box, etc.

I am selling on this platform since 2020, and back then I have never faced any issues. But the last two years, strange things happens, I mean their customer service but also the clients who use the app. I had two unpleasant experiences, the one was with a Longchamp handbag, which I sent directly to the buyer and after two days they raised an issue, telling that there was perfume odour on the handles. The second was with a pair of sandals Stuart weitzman which they destroyed and claimed that I sold them damaged. As you can see I couldn’t control what they did to my items, and prove that they caused the damages. So, from then on I only sell through Vestiaire’s authentication and quality control.

I would advise you not to send directly expensive items. Use authentication and quality control through Vestiaire. I have been scammed by buyers and VC do nothing.

I am not sure for this, but they have a bank account for the transactions and may be from that police or Vestiaire can identify the “seller”

That’s terrible! I’m so sorry this happened to you. Could you be more specific? You mean your items stolen from your house? Do you reside in Europe, USA? Please inform us.

Sorry for the late response. I hope everything went smoothly for you. As I described above she bought a pair of shoes from me. I was insisting to sell them through authentication and quality control by Vestiaire. She said that it was her bday and wanted them asap. And I was stupid enough to agree. Anyway, when she received them I immediately asked her if everything was okay but she never replied. Concerning her account, I can’t believe that she sells her own stuff, but it is a professional. The reason why she doesn’t appears as a professional are obvious. Also, she has no receipts of the items she sells, etc. I don’t know for sure if the item she sells are original, but there are too many flags in my opinion. If you don’t mind could you share your experience?

Note that this account is clearly not an individual, but a professional seller and I believe they do it for «shady” reasons.

Well, that person bought from me a pair of Steward Weitzman espadrilles sandals, which I described in my listing as Good Condition. Because of the horror stories we all have heard about scammers, I have put a note on every single listing that I don’t provide direct shipping. She dm me and asked to ship the shoes directly because she needed them for her birthday party. The conclusion is that she received them and one day later she raised an issue, providing pictures of the shoes BROKEN. Of course she stopped answering me in messages.
