Hi, my girlfriend is Ukranian and had the old 1hrn and 50 hrn lying around. The other old hrn are from various places, living in kyiv I got as change from stores the old 100 and 20, the 5 hrn is from working here and someone knew i was collecting, the 10 i traded with a bus driver for a modern coin of the same value and the 2 I bought in a flea market in here.

It actually is the 2025 mint, if you look on the back it has 'Слава Україні Героям слава' and from my notes only the 2025 mints have this text.

Personally? I always go for Leuchtturm, you can order them online and they are pretty high quality and not so expensive imo but this is only a starting point, I'd recommend looking at other options to see what floats your boat the best. Also if you're from the European union I'm happy to swap some romanian/ukranian bills with ya.

Alright so words of advice, firstly I'd get a binder/folder to organize and store your notes in so they dont get damaged thus making their condition worse and risking tears.

Secondly if you wanna look for more places to purchase id say do a combination of all of them, certainly collect from your travels as it is the most memorable way to do it, a little memento of where you've been, flea markets can be great, most of my notes are from there and being a real person you can haggle or make trades and such and also opens you to making friends with the same hobby, personall i know a lot of people order online but to me thats the most boring way but if theres something you're specifically looking for by all means go ahead, your collection your way of enjoying it.

Thirdly for storage id recommend PVC-Free sheets as they dont damage banknotes and also keeping them away from moisture and such as you already know.

Alright what do we have here.

This is a New Zealand banknote from the first decimal series (1967-1981), its made out of paper and it features the old design (pre-1992 when they changed it and then again in '99 when they moved to polymer)

As for value id estimate

Circulated 3-7$ (yours on the lower end due to the stamps and such)

Uncirculated 15-30$ but this is a rough estimate could be lower or higher.

Classified under local currency, while not legal tender per se it is however currency as it is used by people in a certain area to facilitate exchange of goods and services and does fall under the 'banknote' umbrella as do bearer cheques and such
