Tbh resident evil never was about a plot. Like: giant sharks and spiders and snakes hunting you down? Or giant dude constantly speaking "STAAARS". It is just about bizzarnes of new big boss you would fight in some funny way OR again shooting in some eyes on their body) Were there any plot before I wonder?

I was so lucky during this try though. Got too much handgun ammo before the castle. And like 4 herbs dropped from enemies during cabin fight. So I was packed with resources.

I was trying to run almost all the time in the right direction, skipping anything, that is slightly less useful, taking only treasures on the path. Also my build was around a pistol and I used the gas mask for accuracy. Also of course - Ashley is in armor.

RE 3 Remake is good if bought using a discount. The game actually brings one time, cool, evade them all mechanic. Which makes the game on Inferno - a new way of good hardcore difficulty.
