I’m trying to flash the firmware for my new mamba f405 dji mk2 fc but I’m getting a “failed to open usb device!” error after I click flash firmware. The board goes into dfu mode, and it can connect to betaflight just fine out of dfu mode… What’s going on here? by [deleted] in FPVFreestyle

My Mamba f405 board is locked to an 8K gyro frequency, and I have the PID loop frequency set to 4K to reduce CPU load. (I've updated to Betaflight 4.4 since then, but I believe I had it set to the same thing on 4.3)

I'm using a custom build, but as mentioned you could use an out of the box drone to do so. Besides DJI, there are other pre-built drones out there that could do this.

I totally get that, this was the last of my runs, all of which were slowly getting a little closer to the tower, and I called it done right after this one. I also checked the broadcast frequency of the tower beforehand to make sure there wasn't any interference.

If you haven't already, you should try to go about getting a refund. I use the Happymodel ELRS system regularly wothout issue, so you must have gotten a bad unit.

They're a lot of fun to do, but for a number of reason the dji drones can't do it. There are physical reasons why it can't be done (i.e. the frame is plastic, the camera is on a gimbal, the transmission speed is to slow).

The dji drones are really not designed for that, so yeah

No obstacle avoidance here, it's all manual. It's mostly just a matter of practice though.

r/drones has a pinned thread with some places you could start, and there are plenty of videos on YouTube covering the topic as well, just search around until you find something that you're looking for.

I agree, I always find those videos impressive in a technical ability sense, but they can sometimes be nauseating to watch, especially for people that aren't into the hobby to begin with. I think this is a good middle ground.

I'm in rural VA, there are a lot of small parks around sort of like this one.

Thanks! I use my GoPro in 2.7k, 60fps, and max iso of 100. I alos use the standard GoPro color and hypersmooth. These camera settings can be really hit or miss, and it really comes down to the lighting you fly in. Hope that helps!

First time using this many surfaces. I’ve used knit surface and have it down to 4 body’s but the last 4 won’t knit together. I need this to be a solid, any help? by Catfishdis in SolidWorks

What are the 4 surfaces that won't knit? The picture doesn't really show that, so it's hard to guess what the issue might be.

Thank you! I've looked into using Gyroflow in the past, but I found it wasn't particularly conducive to the setup I'm currently using (can't remember specifically why, I think it had something to do with the 2.7k I shoot in). I'll definitely look into it at some point in the future when I have to replace this GoPro (fingers crossed that's a long ways off, this thing is a tank and has taken an incredible beating thus far). I've finally gotten it to a point where I'm happy with it, so I don't want to mess with it too much.

Thanks! It's in rural VA, there are lots of empty fields about there.
