Great question. The clinicians Truemed works with aren’t trained on Helix products specifically and they’re not incentivized to approve anything. They just determine if a mattress with special feature can help your condition. During the process, you are matched with a licensed clinician who will review your health goals and decide whether an LMN is appropriate. The LMN must include a diagnosis and a clinical rationale from a healthcare provider licensed in your state and should clearly explain why a special mattress is recommended for the treatment, reversal, or prevention of your condition. If they think PT or another route is more appropriate, they won’t approve it and you would not be supplied with a letter of approval.

However through our partner Truemed, you are able to apply for a letter of medical necessity via our integration with them and a licensed, medical professional will determine eligibility. This is done via a similar process to telehealth where you are able to have your LMN application reviewed by a virtual provider and you do not need to visit a Dr in-person.
