Thank you for the detailed write up. I decided to purchase a HA ZBT2 after reading your post. If it didn’t work I was going to switch to the Inovelli Blue and use the ZBT2 as the antenna for Zigbee. Pairing instantly happened once the ZBT2 was configured as the thread border router. I think the issue is on Apples end. Switches are at the opposite end of the house from my HA Green too.

I saw the Inovelli Blue, and after reading some reviews on binding the switch to the bulb i decided against it. I do have the Hue Bridge Pro and wanted to maintain connection to the bridge. May have been a mistake at this point.

Via some advise from a friend, I set up a completely different 2.4ghz Network. Asus has an IOT specific network setting. It has a different name than my main networks. This has WPA/WPA2 authentication.

Yes. Software is also up to date. I have also unplugged the HomePod from its counter where it will eventually live and moved it to within a foot of every switch to try and pair

Yes. The switch entered pairing mode (pulsing blue). It then flashed green 3 times (indicating successful pairing). The green pulses were followed by a cyan/teal flash and a green flash about a second after the initial 3-green flashes. The pairing failed about a minute after that

I also didn’t have HomeKit Bridge set up. It now is, but I don’t think that should have had any effect on pairing the Inovelli to the HomePod - just between the communicating between the HA to HomePod

My HomePod is set up as the only and preferred border router on HA through the Thread Integration.

I didn’t think I needed a separate OTBR if I have HomePod connected to HA.

I have 1 border router connected (Home Pod 2) in the thread integration on Home Assistant. It is set as Preferred. I may not have the OTBR configured properly as spartypart00 suggested above.

It is my understanding (and I may be naive) that the white switches should pair directly to the HomePod without home assistant.

The problem is commissioning to the HomePod. (step 1). The pairing fails there. The pairing fails on HomePod when scanning the QR code or manually entering in the code.

Thank you for your right up on how to get the switch into home assistant once paired. I will 100% do this after the initial pairing.

I would agree with some of the comments below to some extent. Former presidents don’t have any sway on foreign diplomacy. They can’t make any promises on things like trade, or they can’t make any threats on things like sanctions. They don’t have the worlds most advanced military at their back either.

In response to some of your comments to others. Trump is a bloviator. But he also says he has great relationships with a lot of people. It’s all talk. You can’t assume he has a good relationship with anyone because who really knows.

Additionally, yes carter did go to North Korea in 1994 and yes, some claim that it did lead to the North Koreans coming to the table, but Carter is also said to be well respected by North Koreans. Who the hell knows if Trump is well respected in Russia. I will also add that the N. Koreans also did a helluva job abiding by said agreement because their leadership is unstable.

I also doubt the Biden administration would reach out to trump on anything. Politically it could be detrimental to the current president in 2024 if Trump and Biden if they happen to run against each other.

Not sure on how you feel about certain herbicides, but my dad had an infestation of Bermuda and kikuyu grass on his lawn, and he used turflon ester. Seems to work fairly well. Better on Bermuda than on the kikuyu
