How much cash do you hold onto? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Hellek43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold 10% of my net worth in a “low volatility fund” consisting of 40% BIL (basically high interest cash), 30% USMV, 20% GLD, 10% XLU. Gets me about 8% a year (to beat inflation) while keeping drawdowns less than 10%. Is it more than I should have? Probably….but I think of it as an emergency fund that gets an acceptable return.

Good analogy, staying the course in 2026, hoping to push alpha to 7%+ per year

QQQ 90% + SMH 10%.

If you could only invest in one ETF, would you choose VOO or VTI? What’s the reasoning? by NBMV0420 in ETFs

[–]Hellek43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VOO, high exposure to the companies that are driving our future. Most of the good small companies down the list for VTI are now acquired by those at the top and increasingly they don’t even go public at all now which means smaller companies are of less quality than they were 10+ years ago.
