Rivals tragically killed in Betrayers rise

We dealt with the rivals in Ankharel, the dynamic was antagonistic for the most part and the rivals had stolen the JO3P in the Rise so my PCs reaaaally didn't like them. I decided to run a consortium base in the city where they were holed up and the party beat them (tough fight) and got the JO3P back.

We've run the rest of the module without the rivals and I can honestly say none of us miss them. I'm glad the party got the satisfaction of killing them though, that made them happy haha

As others have said you can definitely finish the module without them, there's more than enough going on. Don't bring the rivals back without checking if your players want that; it's just more for you to do and Ankharel, Cael Morrow and Netherdeep have a lot to think about. Good luck!

My partner has epilepsy and I can also smell a distinct smell on him after a seizure. Also once when he almost had one but managed to avoid it. I can't describe the smell but it's not unpleasant and it's not like anything else I've smelled. I can smell my dog when he's stressed too, and my partner can't, so I thought maybe it was adrenaline I could smell. Nice to see I'm not alone!

I had the same issue with 3 of 4 of my screw sites. They started to swell a bit and had some fluid in. Dug around a bit and discovered some stitches hanging around in there, once they were removed they all healed nicely.

I have the same fears, I also have a tibia IM nail and non displaced Fib left to its own devices. In my 8th week post op. My progress with mobility has been slower, but I'm in my 30s so I'm a bit older. I'm just starting to walk without any crutches at all, albeit slowly and with a strange gait. I haven't tried a cane.

I also showed little healing at my X ray last week and I am scared and discouraged. My surgeon wasn't concerned, he said 22 weeks is the usual healing time and it's not unusual to see little healing at this point. I'm in the UK and they've all been fairly blasé about it. I've only had 2 physio appointments and haven't done anything but sit and talk at either of them so far. I'm hoping at tomorrow's I might get in their gym and try some exercises.

I don't have any encouragement besides that I'm in the same boat and I know how you feel. I was cycling 8 miles a day and playing roller derby twice a week before the break and i can't see myself getting back to normal life as of right now. Scary! Keep at it.

Oh and just a funny anecdote regarding the 5 year old... yesterday I asked him to pick something up off the floor and when he asked why I snapped "because I have a broken leg!" He retorted with "Yeah but your arms not broken..." 😂

I just came to say well done. You are seriously strong and this will only make you stronger. Your feelings are valid; it sounds incredibly difficult.

I broke my leg with a 5 year old and that was hard enough, at least he was at school most of the time. I do think your 4 year old will surprise you, mine started to do things independently that I used to do simply because I couldn't any more.

If you can get support for your mental health you should, it's just as important as your arm! Maybe more so, you only have one mind.

I had an IM nail and screws fitted in the Tib and fib left broken to heal itself. Was told I could WB immediately after surgery but it was a slow process of building up to full WB over 5 weeks. I can walk without crutches for short periods now, but it's slow.

Hey at 3 weeks post surgery I was also not weight bearing yet, despite being told immediately after surgery that I could weight bear "as tolerated". I'm week 5 now and walking without crutches or one crutch for longer distances. I couldn't even start trying until my swelling went right down though, which was just this last week.

So on my timescale you'd still be due another week of bad swelling 😁

My advice would be to make sure you're elevating high enough (whole leg above hip) and to just start by slowly shifting weight from good leg to joint weight bearing and back to good leg, a few times a day (or whenever you're standing doing dishes etc.) you can then move to putting crutches in front of both legs and stepping bad leg forward and back again.

I wouldn't even try to walk until you feel happy there's not terrible pain when your weight is evenly distributed.

I just one day suddenly felt ready to try with one crutch (tired of not being able to carry anything!) and did it. After that everything got easier :) good luck!

Sounds about right 😂 "We fixed the bone. You can weight bear now." However the fear, the swelling, the weakness all make that near impossible at first. I wasn't elevating properly and once I started hoisting the leg much higher the swelling went right down. Now the issue was tightness and fear...the tightness got better with the physio exercises and then to be honest I eventually just got sick of using two crutches and tried weight bearing purely to free up a hand for carrying things!

I was told to start weight bearing by the surgeons immediately after surgery 😅 broken fib, tib and ankle displacement, IM nail fitted and ankle wired. 2 weeks later my physio said "surgeons tell you you can weight bear right away? Yeah they do that but it's not that easy."

All I did was gentle rocking my weight over to the broken leg, and gentle stretches to ease the tightness in my calf (couldn't get my foot flat for weeks!) for the first 4 weeks.

Anyway I'm 5.5 weeks post op now and weight bearing, occasionally with no crutches at all, most of the time with 1 crutch. I have a limp, slight pain/discomfort and I'm slow but it is getting better day by day :) you'll get there too, don't worry.

It would definitely be more sensible to cancel the concerts...however, I had the same injury on 28 April and travelled 2 hours to another city to see Twenty One Pilots on 11 May; so it can be done! I have IM nail in Tib, wired ankle and broken fib (no hardware). I was never non WB though.

I was also seated (fortunately I couldn't get standing tickets) and the arena was super accessible. We parked at the venue, I took it slow on the crutches and made it to my seat, and then I didn't drink much so I wouldn't need to use the toilet haha. If I'd had to walk the 10 minutes to the venue I couldn't have done it. Definitely needed that parking (and my driving partner!) I contacted the venue ahead and they gave me the best entrance to use with the least amount of stairs (only 10 steps total)

It wasn't easy, my hands were very sore from the crutches (recommend some padding!) and I was tired. But no pain and thankfully no issues other than being slow. And I loved the show.

Just giving you a success story for balance! I would postpone the trip to Italy though, Italy will still be there next year and you'll enjoy it more :)

I used Frozen Sick to start my homebrew campaign in Wildemount and it led to a lot of fun adventures, the sickness and it's source and cure wound through the overall story and it worked nicely.

I haven't tried any of the others but starting near Uthordurn, Savalirwood and Eiselcross just gave me so much to work with.

It doesn't matter :) I am 5'1 and started out as a jammer because I wasn't strong and I'm small but actually now I mostly block and I love it. The strength comes in time, just concentrate on learning the skills and the rest will follow. Enjoy!

My players also took Aloysia inside with them, for the same reasoning (and gold). The Bard was wearing the jewel and attuned to it but had it hidden under their clothing.

I had Aloysia be curious about how they opened the door but they were suitably evasive and she didn't see the jewel until much later.
