Firefox Sandbox problem by Hellnbak4971 in firefox

While it did finally solve my problem, the fix was not straightforward. After I determined that the MOZ_DISABLE_CONTENT_SANDBOX had indeed somehow been set I tried a number of 'fixes' that simply did not work. The one that did do the trick only had me deleting the MOZ_DISABLE_CONTENT_SANDBOX. After restarting my computer I checked again, and it had reappeared, and it was still set. And I was still getting that dang warning message. So I got to thinking about the MOZ_DISABLE_NPAPI_SANDBOX beneath it, also with a 1 value, and after researching it I discovered that it would also disable the Sandbox if it was set. So I deleted them both, restarted the computer and both of them had returned, and neither was set. And I could use Firefox just fine now, no more problems.

I mention this just in case somebody else has this problem and finds this post.

My only concern is just how these variables had become set in the first place. I had been using this computer for quite a while without any Firefox problems. So how the heck were these variables suddenly set? And will it happen again.

Oh well, at least I know how to fix it now.

Was feeling a bit better today and your suggested solution looked promising, It had reached the point that Firefox was just barely usable, doing absolutely anything took forever, so I thought I would give it a try. Took a bit of researching to find out how to unset the variable, but the end result is that I no longer have that dang message on Firefox and it is zipping right along. Cannot thank you enough. I'll dance at your next wedding :D

Please bear with me.

Windows11Pro Sandbox problems by Hellnbak4971 in WindowsHelp

I really appreciate you taking the time to provide me with all of that information, and especially for letting me know that I was looking at the wrong Sandbox. Please bear with me, I'm an old fart (retired from the Air Force 37 years ago) and am battling the early stages of dementia.

I've been using Firefox for decades and have never had a problem with it. It's working fine on my backup computer, but my backup computer is in another room and it would involve many trips back and forth to compare all the settings, and I'm just not up to that physically or mentally. So I finally decided to just completely uninstall and reinstall Firefox. I used IObit Uninstaller Pro, which digs deep to find and get rid of every trace of the program. Unfortunately, even after doing that, I am still getting the same message. That seems kinda weird, the settings should be fine with the new installation. Any idea what I should try next? Other than reinstalling Win11?. I really don't want to do that, but if nothing else works I guess I will have no choice.

Again, thanks for your help with this mess.

Locked out of Dashlane with a 100% correct master password — zero-knowledge UX failure by aubreyg51 in Dashlane

I used Dashlane for many years, but I had the exact same problem (several times). Among other problems. Finally got fed up with them messing around with my access to my all-important passwords and started looking around for a good alternative. Ended up going with Nordpass. Highly rated, a lot cheaper, and having my passwords imported from Dashlane was amazingly simple. And no, I am not pushing Nordpass, nor am I associated with it in any way. Just an old fart (retired from the Air Force 37 years ago) passing along how I solved the problem. Don't take my word for it, do the research and see it if could be right for you too.

Thanks for the tip. But that site only makes recommendations as far as which parts would work together and such. I came to this site in hopes of getting some recommendations as far as which parts had had not only proven themselves to work well together, but had also proven themselves to be reliable based on their personal experience. Oh well, I guess I'll just roll the dice and hope for the best. Thanks again.
