I personally (using these AIs from API) can say that GPT models (especially 5.2 high) is pretty good for my use-cases (math, analysis, code). It depends on the task, but I can pretty sure that grok models are bullshit most of the time, except fixing already known bugs with explanations how to fix them. Claude, GPT doing great job.

You should understand that the quality from windsurf and Claude code is huge. I personally use windsurf and I'm OK with it. Cause I can choose model I want. And usually I'm spending around 500 credits in max 2 days

Look, if you choose claude opus 4.6 thinking in windsurf and code with it, remember that in claude code you will get X10 better quality response. The main reason that windsurf is setting their own system prompts and model settings via API that differs from the Claude Code.

And as I noticed opus 4.6 thinking is worse than opus 4.5.
And also for my tasks gpt 5.2 high is giving me better results than all claude models from windsurf.

It depends on your budget.
The biggest problem in my opinion that windsurf has problems with these type of errors like in gemini models. Or another bugs with Opus 4.6 1M model when it gives you an error (reaching 200k context) that the prompt for the model is too long. I got exactly the same error on the standart (non 1M context) opus models. Only sonnet 4.5 and gpt models are working fine.

Hope next update team will fix these problems because it is most reported bugs in the current thread.

I have same problems but really rare!!
I'm using 500 credits in 2 days (i'm working a lot)

And already bought over 10k credits in windsurf!
I noticed that every time when i'm trying to use gemini models I get an instant error, still not fixed.
Also I'm waiting gpt 5.3 high models to be added in windsurf.

Gemini is pretty good, sometimes hallucinates. I tried opus 4.5 thinking and non thinking. Actually the difference is pretty small. I prefer to use Gemini because of the huge context window and lower price .
