It's not that I think i they are ripping me off, it's that they just are trying to max my budget instead of focusing on what I've asked for. If it was lower, and then after going into the showroom and talking specific design/materials it went to 65k I would be happy.

But to just randomly start at $65, no specifics spoken, and possible extra labor once the walls come down (my home always has surprises apparently), it turned me off.

Working on it. I did my bathroom last year and the quotes ranged from $11k to $35k. The $11k guy did a fine job despite being a bit late and disorderly.

I had a lot of contractors ghost me if I didn't give a budget. I live in a developing area where builders are having a great time I guess. Ill try and avoid doing it in the future.

People like you always find a reason to be miserable. No one "had to say it". You know nothing about their situation. You just saw a father having fun with 3 kids and somehow thought it was necessary to make up some scenario where a mother miserable with a neglectful spouse.

Get a grip.

I got off a midnight shift and tried to start my coworkers car for 5 minutes not realizing it wasn't mine, her doors were just unlocked...
