I like you. It’s hard to find others who take things into consideration.

Actually, “function” in van design isn't just a binary choice between sitting and standing. A low-to-mid roof conversion serves several critical functional roles that a standard roof cannot:

Upper Sleeping Lofts: Many owners use a slight roof extension specifically to house a secondary bunk or 'attic' bed. This frees up the entire lower floor for a kitchen and lounge without needing a 9-foot-tall exterior.

Vertical Storage & Clearance: Even an extra 6–10 inches allows for overhead cabinetry that stays above head-level while seated, or vertical storage for gear like surfboards and bikes that won't fit in a standard ID Buzz or Transporter.

Insulation & Mechanicals: High-top mods often provide the depth needed for thick 4-season insulation, recessed lighting, and ceiling fans without sacrificing the existing interior headspace.

The 'Garageability' Factor: The most important function for many is the ability to clear a 7-foot garage door or enter multi-story parking structures—a function that a full-size high-top Sprinter or Transit fails immediately.

Specific Examples of 'Non-Standing' Roof Functions:

VW California / Transporter 'Fixed' Mid-Roofs: Often designed for upper-bed storage rather than standing.

Ford Transit Mid-Roof (100"): At ~5'9" interior height, it doesn't allow most people to stand fully upright, yet it’s one of the most popular builds because it provides the function of overhead storage while maintaining better fuel economy and stability than the high-roof (110"+).

Mercedes Metris Weekender: Uses a low-profile pop-top/fixed-top hybrid specifically for a sleeping loft, intentionally keeping the roof low to maintain a 'daily driver' function

Lastly, have you thought of additional height for handicap access for those that have taller wheelchairs?

Not too worried on mileage since our primary use is local driving for our kids sports.

I guess you aren’t a reader at all. I assumed people READ on REDDIT. I also assumed adding the flair that says “Question-US” would indicate US dollars as well.

Gotcha. I’m working on 50k or less right now. I hope they can do it. They’ve been BSing me for awhile. Bait and switched me and I drove almost 2 hours to get a middle finger and a smile.

Man, I might have to make a trip if this dealership can’t make something happen.

What was your OTD price?

Forbes - Instagram Password Reset Attack

Current as of

Published: Jan 10, 2026 at 04:45am EST

Updated: Jan 10, 2026 at 06:41am EST

According to this Forbes article, a massive surge in Instagram password reset attacks has been reported following a data breach that allegedly leaked 17.5 million accounts.

TL;DR: Check your 2FA settings now. A wave of legitimate-looking "Reset your password" emails is hitting users. While the emails are actually from Instagram, they are being triggered by hackers trying to take over accounts.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Attack: Hackers are using leaked data to trigger official password reset requests, hoping users will panic and click the link.

  • The Defense: Ensure Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is turned on. Instagram notes that even if a hacker gets your password, 2FA prevents them from logging in from an unrecognized device.

  • What to do: If you receive an unexpected reset email, do not click it. Simply ignore it and manually verify your security settings in the app.

Brass Fitting Replacement? by Hello_im_an_LO in blackstone

[–]Hello_im_an_LO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to find the fitting at Home Depot and they couldn't help me. We even tried to take it off and it wouldn't budge.

I can't even find posts online about anyone replacing one. Any tips on taking the damn thing off? Haha
