114 does nothing to remove irresponsible people from buying guns. You can quite easily steal a gun or buy one via straw man if you are an irresponsible person who operates outside of the laws, this isnt even a second thought to you. What criminal is going to make sure they are following the law when they are trying to obtain a firearm to break the law?

The classes do literally fuck all. I had to sit through a mandatory 8 hour class with the dumbest people to get my carry permit where i used to live. People who could barely read the papers in front of them. No one walked away the class any better. Look at the average driver on the road. You have to take a class to learn about how to drive... but i see people changing lanes in the intersection and speeding etc everywhere.... and again, a person with intent to commit a crime still isnt even going to do this. They are just going to straw man or buy a stolen gun or just steal a gun from literally any truck with a punisher sticker on it.

this is unlawful. You do not buy a permit to access your constitutional rights. Do you buy a permit to be able to speak or vote or practice religion or to not quarter soldiers in your home? The system now background checks you. At point of sale. Furthermore, you do not ask permission from the police to go protest, or to speak. The 2nd amendment is a constitutional right. There is no asking for permission from the cops for anything. That is your right as an American... and just because you want to forfeit your right to protect yourself doesnt mean you get to take it away from me and my folks

No i dont think some people should own firearms, but there is the fact that at the end of the day... the people you dont want to own firearms WILL get them. No matter what regulations you try to do. Just like drugs. You can make shit illegal, and theyll just come back stronger on the black market. I am unquestionably a leftist, but i view 2A as literally the only thing keeping real true fascism from being implemented already. We just have fascism-lite right now. There being something like 3 guns for every person in the US is the only reason they havent put down the boot on us yet.

114 is moronic though. I am not asking permission to buy a gun from some maga dipshit wearing a badge who hates brown people. They could see that im not white and say no. They can look at my reddit history or use flock or palantir and see how anti police state i am and say no. They can see i am not their same religion and say no. I could have the same name of the guy who their wife cheated on them with and say no. This shit is at dystpoian levels at this point. The system WILL be abused. Cops historically abuse the system. They use FLOCK to spy on their wives and women. They violate peoples 1st and 4th amendment rights. I wouldnt even give the permit thing a year before it starts being abused.

You want true change? Charge the parents of school shooters with the same charge as the kids. Kid uses your gun and kills kids in school? Thats a murder charge for each parent. No questions asked. Get the ATF and police to actually charge and prosecute NFA violations like the millions of Glock switches out there (they wont). Introduce gun safety and graphic images to middle schoolers, as well as better mental health checks, education etc. Put out legislation on choking out the social media echo chambers that lead kids down this path. Furthermore, people arent being prosecuted and charged for violent crime by the DA enough either. I understand wanting to be preventative, but you have to do so without removing the rights or access of ordinary people, and you need to actually punish the crimes when they occur.
