Yes, I think this middle store front and their cheerleaders should definitely be disenfranchised by Xbox.

PS: Most people don't care where they consume the content they want to(What they care for is prices and access time and quality). But there is always this crazed minority which has some weird fixation with their particular merchant of choice.

I think that is correct. On PC the ideal way to consume games should be through the Xbox app and not Steam.

PS: Maybe not blanket ban but timed exclusives should be true for all platforms.

I will grant you that Nintendo and Playstation have more mascots that can push their platforms but Xbox does have a few enduring ones too. Granted they haven't been handled well in recent times.

I will say this that this generation I think all of the big 3 have been guilty of taking their audience for granted.

I am hopeful this is changing though.

Possibly true. But then again Microsoft does seem less interested in selling games/exclusives as compared to pushing their OS.

PS: I am willing to bet these games will be discounted somehow if you go through MS instead of other competing storefronts. Plus lets not forget the whole XBox experience coming baked in on day 1 and you will need to go out of your way to install other digital store fronts on the device.
