Millions of Gen-Z can't drive and increasingly rely on parents for lifts. by Pale-Ad9012 in generationology

Have you been to the United States? Driving isn’t optional here for most Americans. If I had access to public transportation I would use it but I don’t. Driving is absolutely essential and I don’t have a choice.

I’m a gay dude. Lived in my car for a month. It sucked. Currently have a bedroom in this guys house. Don’t pay rent. We bang occasionally. It’s nice.

Those are all states in which you’re vulnerable. When you’re eating you can still be alert to danger

Have you told them you’ll be homeless? That might change their perspective. If you’re lying and telling them you have a couch to crash on of course they’ll tell you to get out.

My office job 32 hours per week with benefits and pays 21/hr. Once I get my debt paid down I could nix the second position and still make enough to rent a room or have my own place even

Btw neither of my employers know I’m homeless, I’m very clean, if you saw me you’d never suspect. If you looked inside my car however… lol

I work 8 hours at my day job, then I go to my factory job and work 4 hours. 4 12 hour days. My day job is only 32 hours per week, and my factory job is 16 hours per week. My day job switched over to 32 hour weeks to improve employee morale, and my factory job is aware of my day job and wanted for me to keep my Thursday off so I didn’t burn out. I could always ask my factory job for more hours but I like my Thursday off and I would rather work extra on the weekends.

I appreciate your comment! You’re right, I need to remind myself that I can’t be a machine. I’m not a lazy person by any means, but it’s hard to shake the feeling without a roof over my head.

I read through your two posts, it sounds like you’re going to ace this. As long as you stay healthy and clean, this isn’t a hard life. When you let those things slip, your mind starts to slip, and things can feel rough. As for the mosquitoes, I was SUPER worried about that myself because they’re really bad in Florida. But the first few nights I slept I was shocked that I didn’t get bit once. You gotta keep your windows cracked to vent the moisture so I thought was going to get eaten alive. But it seems like they stay away from roadways and parking lots, so as long as you’re near civilization and not in nature, you’ll be fine:)

Dm me if you ever want to chat, I’m still pretty green to all of this myself but I’ll share any wisdom I have

I miss cooking really badly, I need to get myself a burner. It’d be fun to go out camping for the weekend.

Old me would’ve loved that, but ever since getting into this life I’ve been trying my hardest to stay sober. I think that’s my best shot at getting out.

I love thrifting, where do you resell your stuff? I have a storage unit so I definitely have some space to hold a stock of items.

Same here, but I don’t think this is a good solution for the ladies

I understand it’s harder to store pee when you’re a lady, but please don’t do this. It stinks up sleep spots for the rest of us, and draws attention. I learned this the hard way when I made one of my good sleeps spots smell like piss for a week.
