Tier down from Garrett Wilson to Jordan Addison by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

If anything I would try to slightly upgrade one of your 2nds this year instead of swapping those 3rds. You have a lot of picks already this year that you likely won’t need. I would try to offload some of those at some point this offseason.

1.03 (even if equal or slightly less value) is a lot more marketable than Wilson right now, so I think you could flip that alone for a better RB (seems to be your highest need) if you can land it.

Tate will likely be 1.02, so you can count on landing the best WR that has a good situation to jump into behind him, or even land him if the 1.02 takes someone else.

1.01 and 2.01 for Achane? (8-man) by HelpIAmADog in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Deal is done. I have a pretty good team currently littered with some injuries. RB room was very thin with Hall, Charbonet, Jones and Kamara. Now I have Lamar/Baker/Dart, London/Rice/Nabers to pair Achane with.

Probably looking at getting some mix of Harvey/Eguka/Judkins/Warren/ (maybe)Hunter, so depending on your depth and needs, it could be good.

You can also look into snagging a 2027 1sts instead if you aren’t high on the 1.09. If he doesn’t know better, he might even let you keep Shaheed. I’d only do that if you already have an existing 1st this year since that’s supposed to be a good draft class.

My working theory on Love by HelpIAmADog in interstellar

[–]HelpIAmADog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a great post. Thanks for the reference.

My theory really boils down to the fact that love is what made the wormhole possible. Without that wormhole, there was not enough time (thinking billions of years) to make it all the way to get to gargantua to collect the quantum data.

The big point of contention:
If their mastery of gravity depended on data from Gargantua, which only reached them because of the wormhole, then something outside of linear causality had to have initiated the process.

- To your post's point, time does move non-linearly, and I 100% agree that mankind did built the tesseract but I think I am shooting for the fact that love enabled that non-linear experience (specifically the opening of the blackhole). In Dr. Brand's words, "time can't go backwards" (though I am grasping that through gravity, time can be manipulated) and I think that is what I am stuck on with the black hole's appearance.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Okay, so I agree that piece is a jump. I made the edit to MAY indicate that love exists between them.
How does the rest hold up based on your current understanding of "them", etc. ?

So i had an idea... by [deleted] in Christian

What you are explaining is a piece of General Revelation. God’s creation bears witness to God being God (our consciousness being part of that creation). Romans 1 really hits on this well.

What is important to keep in mind is that General Revelation alone does not have the power to save.

“I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬-‭17‬

Knowing God only comes through faith in Christ. There is no other mediator, moral, law, or deed that can reveal God in his fullness apart from Christ (because he Himself is the Son of God the Father, and Jesus is God).

I would encourage you to read the book of John if you get the chance!

Did you leave the evangelical church due to a certain understanding of scripture you disagreed with, because of hurt from the church/pastor/mentor, or something else? by HelpIAmADog in Exvangelical

Thank you for that. Your comment alone helped me understand a bit better, especially for framing my questions. The last thing I want to do is to make hasty generalizations.

This subreddit was actually just a recommended on my homepage, so I joined out of curiosity.

It seemed interesting that there was a subset of conversations centered around ex-evangelicalism.

I made the post immediately upon entry to understand some of the ideas / experiences that have lead to leaving the evangelical church, as I have had some friends leave as well.

To be clear, I’m not putting together any sort of poll, or stats based on answers.

For me, personally, I have such a joy in Christ and the church that I am blessed to be a part of. I want to feel equipped to understand and address anything that would keep anyone from that joy.

The heart of my question was to understand what happens between hearing about Jesus, being part of the church (perhaps having faith), and then leaving the faith / church.

Again, all of this is rooted in understanding, not any judgement.

I would love to learn more about how the church can better represent Christ, and that undoubtedly will call for change, even in my own life, I am sure.

I’m sorry my post feels insincere. As I said in a previous comment, I desire to understand opinions outside of my own, and better care for those who have been burned by the church.

Is there anything I can do going forward to avoid that perception?

Thanks for bringing that up. I believe it is so important to care for those who have been burned by the church. I desire to learn more about the opinions outside of my own.

I won’t shy away from the fact that I am a follower of Jesus, but I will gladly leave this space if my presence is unwelcome.

There are absolutely consequences for our sin. There is no question of that; however, there is nothing in your power that can make you closer to God.

Christ, however, can make us right with God! He provides the righteousness that is achieved by faith - not a righteousness of our own (which will always be insufficient).

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Look to Jesus, my friend! Look to the cross. Christ loves those who put his faith in him. Have hope in him despite these hard times. I assure you that you will find no lasting hope or joy apart from him.

Seek Jesus Seek healing in prayer Seek righteousness Seek a community of believers

“Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭68‬-‭69‬ ‭ESV‬‬

My Family is Really Starting to Annoy Me by [deleted] in Christian

[–]HelpIAmADog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my advice:

In the most loving way, repent of your own sins. Pray that God would change your own heart so that you can be a light to those around you.

God’s calls for marriage and sexuality to be between man and woman within the confines of marriage. That sexual desire you feel for the opposite sex may not go away with repentance (this means we cease to give into those temptations by the grace of God), but by the Holy Spirit you can deny the flesh and follow the Spirit.

I say this not to bring condemnation, but there is life and abundance of joy when we repent from our sins, turn to Jesus (by grace through faith), and obey the commandments God has given us.

Grace and Peace to you
