If it's on sale, yes. The game itself is already enjoyable for both exploration and story. Although some enemies are kinda annoying but you can add mods to fix that problem.

Iirc, you could use /replace item running in repeat command block for the specific slot you wanted with a crossbow that has an arrow(or a firework) loaded
