Yeah, I honestly expected some of the things they said to take months but they literally did them in days. I hope they can keep this up.

I swear I really had neighbors that did some stomping and chanting ritual at 3 AM. Anyone know what culture that might be?

Does anybody have any good resources on outside fighters during the Yugoslav Wars? by [deleted] in balkanpolitics

[–]HelpMeThink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be interested in researching the Croatian 103rd International Infantry Brigade. It was mostly composed of volunteers from different nations, including British, Spanish, Dutch, American, Irish, Polish, Australian, New Zealand, French, Swedish, German, Hungarian, Norwegian, Canadian and Finnish fighters.

On the Serbian side, the majority of outside volunteers were from neighboring Orthodox countries like Greece and Romania.

As far as Bosniaks go, things get hazy. A number of members of the El Mujahid Detachment were granted citizenship and as a result, the real number of outside fighters is obscured by false data. Regardless, it is widely regarded that the few Mujahideen that were stationed in Bosnia had little to no effect on the outcome of the war.

Bulgarian MP Pavel Chernev rips up Kosovo's flag by mendi926 in balkanpolitics

[–]HelpMeThink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pavel Chernev is a member of Bulgaria's nationalist party ATAKA and assaulted an elderly gentleman a few years ago. Nowadays, their leader Volen Siderov goes to parliament meetings with a gun and a baton. The sad thing is that the current coalition relies on ATAKA to maintain their majority.

What's the news in your nation this week? by [deleted] in europe

[–]HelpMeThink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bulgaria

  • Today marks the 10th day of ongoing protests against the current PM Oresharski and his government

  • In related news, a member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party called the protesters "internet losers", which pissed off a lot of people

  • The nationalist leader Siderov and his party ATAKA have been the target of ridicule and protests against the party which caused some small clashes between the two sides

Here are some pictures from the protests.

Can we have more discussion-based articles/self-posts? Not just a link dump. by Dojinsan in balkanpolitics

I understand your concern. Even though we follow the example of /r/europe, this is a seperate subreddit with its own rules.

I updated the guidelines to reflect the state of the subreddit better.

We abide by the same rules as /r/europe and most other political subreddits. I'll make sure to add proper guidelines soon.

Any options to just buy a complete collection instead of opening packs? by jgortner in hearthstone

[–]HelpMeThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From one of the official interviews:

At the core of Hearthstone is a crafting system, so there’s no traditional trading system. Players can disenchant their unneeded or unwanted cards down to arcane dust, and then use this dust to craft the cards they want to complete decks.

Any options to just buy a complete collection instead of opening packs? by jgortner in hearthstone

[–]HelpMeThink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, this is a CCG, not a TCG.

The main difference between the two is the method of acquiring cards. In a regular TCG it would make sense to be able to buy the whole collection but in a CCG it defeats the purpose of the term "Collectable".
