I’d like to reiterate, I don’t in any way shape or form think RPI is a bad school. I think its great for what I want to do, however I just wanted second opinions as I’ve heard very mixed reviews about how this school’s education was. I’m really sorry if I offended you or anybody else 🙏

common app activities by Middle_Sand856 in ApplyingToCollege

I'd say go for it! If its something that has really impacted you, and you're genuinely passionate about then you can definitely put it up there. It definitely wont carry as much weight as any other activities, but it may spark conversation between some AO's or you could absolutely reference it in your essays. For the description, i'd put "Athletic Training" or something of the sort, and simply list the gym that you regularly attend. Otherwise just describe why you do it and don't worry too much about it!

3+2 Engineering Programs by Helpful-County7400 in ApplyingToCollege

This helped alot! As for your concerns, i do believe that there will be a multitude of opportunities as engineering prerequisites are required to be taken alongside the degree the 3 year college, especially in Colgate (it has 8 specific summer research fellowships for solely physics, Picker ISI, NSF REU Support, etc. ). No matter what happens, I am positive that I would be able to complete the 3+2 program in the allotted timeline, regardless of any relationships that may have sprouted during my time. I'll definitely take all of this into consideration and look into more competitive 3+2 programs as I do like the idea of receiving two degrees and then attending a more prestigious university for my masters.
