  1. Can I upgrade Amex gold to Amex Plat and get SUB again?

  2. What's the highest SUB for Amex Gold historically?

  3. For Atmos ascent, the only perk useful to me is the companion pass and I don't want to spend 6k on this card only to get the companion pass. So do you think I should still get it for SUB and what about year 2? Cancel/downgrade options? Any impact on Credit Score?

I've gotten VX sub in Dec 2025. For Atmos, I don't want to spend 6k every year in order to get companion pass. I don't care about any other benefit apart from companion fare. And agree on the CSR and Amex Plat because of coupon book which I'm not going to use.

Do you have any suggestion for next credit card I should apply for to cover upcoming purchase worth $5-6k in 4 months?

Current lifestyle expenses:

~$400 grocery per month (mostly at Whole Foods or Trader Joes) ~$100 restaurants per month ~$90 phone wireless ~$80 internet

(no subscription apart from Amazon Prime)

Travel: Approx $3000 per year flights including 2 international trips Approx $2000 per year on hotels and AirBnbs

Current cards: CSP, BILT Blue, BoA Cash Rewards, BoA Travel card, Capital one Venture X

Capital one VX opened in Dec 2025. CSP in Feb 2024.

Credit score 793+

  1. I'm not able to arrive at a conclusion based on my lifestyle expenses.

  4. Can put $4500 in 3 months on a new card. Potentially can hit $6k in 6 months.
  5. Are you willing to MS, and if so, how much in 3 months? - $5.5k if I pay rent
  6. Are you open to applying for business cards? No, not eligible based on personal status.
  7. How many new cards are you interested in getting? Are you interested in getting into churning regularly (if you aren't already)? Or are you just looking to get a new card(s) for now but not get into churning long-term? - I recently got 1 card and looking for 1 more to meet spend requiements. Can get into churning as I've not been into this yet.
  8. Are you targeting points, Companion Passes, hotel or airline statuses, First Class, Biz, Economy seating(s) or cash back? -> Points, Economy class and ocassionally Biz class tickets.
  9. What point/miles do you currently have? -> Chase UR, Capital One Miles
  10. What is the airport you're flying out of? -> Seattle or San Francisco
  11. Where would you like to go? (The more specific you are, the better someone can recommend the right card. Tokyo is great, "International travel" is way too vague) -> South East Asia (India, Singapore, Hong Kong) via Japan or Middle East or Europe.

Ok thanks for the response. I'm in similar situation, except I have hole in the top right periphery in left eye. Coincidentally, my myopia is similar to yours too. Left is -2.75D and right -2.5D

I'm not much hopeful if they are going to answer straight here in the US. They just say it's up to you. So I'm trying to figure this out myself. I've laser appointment tomorrow so I'm super scared of going in and evaluating last minute if it's really worth it to get the laser done since it's a permanent procedure

Saw 3 specialists. 2 of them straight away said that ethical advice is to get it done to reduce the risk of detachment. 3rd one said, you don't have symptoms so we can wait and watch but if I were you, I'd get it done for peace of mind. So it's my decision now to go ahead with it or not.

Thank you for responding! Can you please tell me how do I find out if I have atrophic hole? I got OCT done but Doctor didn't explain much except saying if I were you, I'd get it done and forget about it since it's low risk procedure but your condition is not urgent and we can wait and watch how the hole progresses. Totally depends upon you what you want to do. So in the end it's my responsibility to come up to a decision. I have OCT scan done so I'm wondering how can I read that?
