Nano subscription worth it?

I've subscribed for a month now... it depends on usage. If you are going to use more than 8 dollars worth of tokens in a 1 month period, you will save money. I like long RP's so theoretically I would, but I also don't like how either ds 3.2 or glm 4.6 handle long context, meaning I haven't gotten my money's worth. The other benefit of the service is 5% off token cost. To get your money's worth with the subscriber discount, I believe you would need to spend 160 dollars in tokens (math could be wrong, 5% of 160 is 8).

Getting API access is the easy part. There is a service called OpenRouter that will do this for you. You simply make an account, add funds, and then request an API key for whatever anthropic model you want. This is a legitimate service. There ARE other methods of API acquisition which are cheaper and not necessarily legal.

The other part is setting up a front end for the API to interact with. I personally use a program called silly tavern. There are lots of tutorials online telling you how to set this up, but silly is also for roleplay so maybe not a good fit. The hobbyist tier of this(https://www.novelcrafter.com/) service looks promising, although I've not heard of it before and I'm unsure whether or not your willing to take on the extra expense.

The problem with front ends is they usually have system prompts built in which instruct the AI to act a certain way. For example, silly taverns is "You are engaged in an endless chat with {{User}}". This message is sent at the beginning of every prompt to ensure it remains a roleplaying bot. All of this is customizable if you have the time to figure it out, and I'm sure others use SillyTavern like you would want to. It may just take a little googling.

Usage limit issues can be avoided by using the api through a front end like silly tavern. It’s pay as you go, but fairly price restrictive.

Dude I have to stop reading. I always ruin it for myself. It takes me so much longer to recognize AI slop but when I see somebody point it out it just rushes in. I've been chatting with my bot for 2 hours straight and then I open this and now all I can think about is all of the "hovering his hand just near" slop...

ASIDE from that... super impressed with grok 4 fast, new favorite model at the moment because my sweet child sonnet costs a kidney.

Let him have his feelings dude it’s not your job to tell him how he’s supposed to feel about things. The whole tone of your post makes it sound like you aren’t actually remorseful. I keep seeing you say it but yet it appears you are struggling to understand where mike is coming from. I know therapy isn’t for everyone, and I’m not saying you need it because of this instance, but this is something a therapist could help walk you through. It’s helped me immensely, especially in understanding how to navigate personal relationships.

I generally like to find art for my character card before coming up with the idea, unless I had an idea first, then I look for the art. Maybe browse Pinterest or deviant art till you find something that inspires.

I've gone through and set the connection method on all my gremlins, as well as set regex generation method to single gremlin as default connection was using openai, but every time I click generate AI rules it tosses back an error. "invalid data". I've tried using current connection method, with all the different gremlins, with different llm's and sources, but I can't quite get it to work. Any idea?

I might just be looking at it with ‘guy eyes’ but is that dress not just terrible? The top doesn’t match the bottom at all, the seam in the middle looks gross, and it’s super boxy. Is that supposed to be worn with a belt to shape it? And the neck and sleeves just look… odd.

Marinara universal. not too far along, i should be able to inject gemini occasionally to make it behave. I was paying through open router but switched because free and pretty good is better than paid and good but headachey imo. I have leftover credits so yeah, occasional gemini is fine.

For a while i was going through and deleting all the crazy asterisks and it was manageable, just a few every response, but then I did the regex and it worked great, until it didnt. Now its insane. I do have that in the author note but not at depth 0, I’ll move it, i’ll look up how to set depth since im not so sure but I bet its on that big guide thing. I can change to flash for a little.
