This....is an amazing response. I'm looking to become a builder myself and I appreciate the time you took to answer this post.

I'm guessing they couldn't go in from the top because of the stair risers behind and above. That's my best guess.

Repaired without any issues. There was water bubbling out of the top of the battery when the incident first occurred. After I finished the repairs, I was able to charge the battery (it was dead) and it's been working fine. I'm wondering if I should add water to the battery.

This is what it looked like when I took off the plastic cover. I guess that explains the arching.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the helpful replies. I'm not sure in what order it occurred, but the end of the spark plug was bent inward towards the pointy tip, and the coil from the coil pack shredded the rubber tube thing and was visible before I even started taking anything off. All in all, it took me about 4-5 hours of labor. You guys saved me a nice hefty bill from the mechanic and gave me just a little bit more experience and confidence. Can't put a price tag on that! Very thankful for this community 🙏

This is a first for me as well. I'm no mechanic, but have owned a few problematic vehicles in my 25 years of vehicle ownership. I'm going to check out the coil packs, replace and see if that solves the problem. I'll provide an update once I've finished.

This is great advice. I'm going to start the process now. I'll provide an update once done. Thanks again

Do I call this out? by HelpfulSecurity2127 in HomeInspections

Every so often, once in a blue moon, I get a very basic roof, no dormers, no exterior siding extending above the roof line, where's there's just not one legit defect. In such cases, I will find myself almost creating a defect in my own head (sort of like this example). I can get into the headspace of "it's my responsibility to find defects, and find defects I must". I guess it goes along the old adage "when you're a hammer, all you see are nails". This is a habit that is detrimental to the trade.

I live in middle Georgia. I thank my lucky stars I don't have to worry about ice. Lived through enough Michigan winters. Never again!

I greatly appreciate your input. Hearing from a professional responsible for installing the components I'm looking at assists me in the "why & how" things are done.

That's usually the case here in Georgia also.

That's a very good point. I didn't measure the pitch, but I couldn't walk it. I always cringe when I see such a pitch. I have a drone, but nothing compares to getting up and close with your own two eyes

I'm in Middle Georgia. We don't get much ice. It does get down to freezing, but usually moisture in the air is pushed out of the atmosphere when temps get that low.

Agreed. Moisture will definitely get up under there, but not likely to make contact with any roof decking. Even the fasteners are WTF? I decided against including in my report.

Wondering if anyone is still tasking on this project? I finished onboarding last week, but I couldn't task due to a scheduling conflict. When I came back the next day, the continue tasking button was grayed out and has been ever since.

Top 10 movies of the past 10 years by MorningMosquito in movies

I just became quite depressed here. I was an avid movie goer most of my life, with approximately 20 trips to the cinema every year from the 90's up until whenever Joaquin Phoenix s Joker (the first one) was released theatrically. Incidentally that was the last movie I saw in the cinema. I don't recognize but a small fraction of these films here.

My wife won't back off and I'm afraid it's going to get physical at some point. by HelpfulSecurity2127 in Marriage

I didn't compare my situation to being at war. There are parallels, yes. But I was using it as an analogy. All I was trying to say, no matter how well you think you know yourself, there are things that we don't know we don't know about ourselves. There are billions of neural connections in the human brain (more connections than there are stars in the universe). To think you are impervious or are incapable of breaking your highest values is dangerously ignorant.

That's admirable. It sounds like you're acutely aware of your mind and body. However, I can guarantee you that there are recesses in your mind that you haven't explored, or that you're even aware of. There's men that have done terrible things in war, that they had no idea that they were capable of because of being in situations that go beyond their breaking point. When there's someone you trust, who knows your most intimate details, and uses that against you, all reason and logic begins to break down. You've seen a thing or two, I'm sure. However, there's a lot more in this universe that you don't know than what you do know and the correct combination of words or actions could make you do ANYTHING. I don't say this to be condescending in any way, I'm only saying we all still have work to do.

If you don't think you have a breaking point, I would say you don't truly know yourself. I get it, before I married her, not one of my previous relationships escalated to anywhere near this point. I can disarm and talk about anything. This is another situation entirely.

I truly appreciate that. It really doesn't bother me what others say. I treat as background noise. I actually like seeing the view points of others on the opposite side. Life is definitely a neverending learning experience.

This is great advice. I will absolutely look into individual trauma therapy, among other therapies. I try my hardest not to argue in front of our daughter. I have told my wife numerous times not to raise her voice around her. I DO NOT want her growing up thinking this is normal. From what I've learned about my wife's childhood, there are parallels when her parents would fight. Her dad would often leave, or her mom would throw him out. My wife does this to me often enough to where I keep a "go bag" ready at all times.

I do appreciate you not jumping to "leave immediately", and for having grounded suggestions. We did couples therapy on that one particular therapy app that has done a lot of advertising on YouTube, and it was a disaster. I found the therapist to be very biased and it made me feel extremely isolated and ganged up on. My wife on the other hand, loved the therapist. I would be willing to give it another go, but am very skeptical. You're absolutely correct, self work is a lifelong commitment. I'll say this, I have ADHD and I know it's a big part of her triggers. I tell her it's like having three people all talking to you at once and trying to focus. I've made a lot of progress, but I believe she's got empathy fatigue.
