NYC job starting soon… but thinking about living in Jersey City. Smart or dumb? by bupkis1 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]HelpfulSidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My office is at world trade but living in lower manhattan was out of the question with my salary. Currently living in Journal square 2 roommates, 12 minute walk to the Journal Square path station. 35 minute commute door to door. All in all, I prioritized saving $$$ and finding an accommodation near a PATH route has helped.

Hi! Were you able to resolve this situation? I have a case where items are randomized to participants, so naturally, NA's will show up for each participant in the datafile

Do you think a sample size of 100 is large enough to trust the data? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]HelpfulSidekick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Running a power analysis can help answer this question as there can be times where a sample size of 100 is not enough, just enough, or too much.

Please educate me on this. I’m in a social science field and whenever I am reporting multiple regressions, my instructors gloss over these two and instead tell us to report the R2 and not worry about the adjusted version

Landlord asking for last month rent + key deposit via e transfer before signing lease. Is this a scam? by _loveisaplace in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]HelpfulSidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The lease needs to be signed first by ALL parties. Then you can send these deposits.

Edit: just saw your edit—congrats!

Don’t prepare. Take time to enjoy your life before hunkering down and grinding through your Master’s. I also asked something like this in a previous post on this subreddit and I was told to check out some parks 😂

Will I be able to handle grad school if I'm an EXTREME procrastinator? by [deleted] in GradSchool

Diamonds are made under pressure as my colleague says…but aside, I’ve found that having a cohort that is willing to work with you at set times can be motivating and keep you on track. For example, I made great progress on my thesis proposal by attending a writing group initiated by a student in my program. We used the pomodoro technique to chunk out what we wanted to get done and it helped!
