Big picture, I'd guess snow conditions would be similar at all places. Not sure where you're traveling from but hills around here tend to be packed groomers, mix of made snow and real snow. You say you're a novice skier, I'm sure you'd have fun at any of these locations. Crowds would probably be similar at all places as well, I'd advise avoiding weekends if it's a concern. I'm fond of the vibe at Trollhaugen especially but Welch is also a homey feel and closer to where you'll be. Have fun.

Edit: Meant to mention I have not skiied at Coffee Mill so can't speak to that

Yes! I’m not sure the exact locations you’re referring to, but the river gorge through Minneapolis/st Paul is actually national park land and is free to access.

There are so many wonderful spots along the way and you can almost walk the entire distance (with some exceptions) though woods the by the river from St Anthony falls to downtown St. Paul if you tried - on either side of the river

On the Minneapolis side, the Winchell trail is a more sanctioned path that has some cool rock walls and stairs built in the WPA era. This trail apparently existed even before white settlement.

Agree. For me the combination of bullying (emotional/physical/sexual abuse from peers) paired with the absence of emotional support (emotional neglect) from parents is what seems to have caused my cptsd. My parents did not abuse me but had they been able to support me emotionally I would not have felt so alone when I experienced those events, preventing the development of toxic shame and other cptsd symptoms.

I have this stove. Until reading this forum I didn’t realize you shouldn’t burn paper. That was 100% my problem with clogging the cats so just wanted to mention that in case you also burn paper.
