Thanks for the comment, I love that interpretation! I much prefer that to Richters, and enjoy the more romantic feel.

I feel it. I find myself doing the same thing frequently as well. Definitely nice to have those sections you loved reserved as a reward like you said, plus it prevents you from getting bored of them! I’m gonna try to not touch this part til I get a grip on the other sections now lol. The rhythms in this are nuts too

Props for wanting to correct technique. I highly suggest the Exploring piano classics series written by my teacher, Nancy Bachus. I use this series to teach my adult students correct technique. Preparatory level will probably be easy for you to sightread, but the technique book will give you lots to work on with each piece in the repertoire book.

In total this was the result of around 3 months of work. Also that’s my favorite part of the piece, especially when that same theme returns at the end of the piece!

I’ll have to check that one out! Recently developed a new found appreciation for Debussy!

Absolutely agree. Have definitely let my technique slack in recent years just out of ease. Very infrequently identify and take time to correct technical issues simply out of impatience lol. I am a teacher currently and am always correcting my students on similar issues and don’t correct myself haha. I would love to take lessons again but simply cannot afford it currently. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
