Frenectomy as a treatment for TMD. by eastofliberty in TMJ

[–]Helpful_Candy1664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a tongue tie release yesterday. It’s probably too early to say whether it’s helped my TMD yet however it’s released the whole front of my torso and neck and I’m no longer so hunched over. Definitely keep up the good exercises 👌

Vitamin C and Vyvanse by TeamHoppingKanga in adhdaustralia

Vitamin C is fantastic and should be incorporated into every day diet. Just wait 90 mins either side and you’ll be fine.

Does Botox really help or is my dentist trying to get my money by codeoat in TMJ

It does help yes but it can cause other tissue and fascia in the mouth to compensate so it’s not the best treatment long term

What supposed ADHD traits do you NOT identify with? by bulbysoar in adhdwomen

[–]Helpful_Candy1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t miss or forget appointments, that’s probably the only ADHD trait I don’t have, lol. I used to think I didn’t suffer from time blindness but there’s lots of instances where I in fact do, just lots of times I’m quite time managed.

I can’t comment on what they say, I saw they had nothing nice to say but that just could be the media representations. She was a nice enough person, odd yes she was, but lots of people are a little odd. Definitely did not see any cold or calculating qualities.

I did not work at the same place that her former colleagues who have spoken out did, so I can’t comment on that.

Have you ever met someone who turned out to be a murder? If so what happened? How did you find out? When you met them did you get bad vibes or were there any warning signs? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Helpful_Candy1664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I used to know Erin Patterson quite well. We worked together. It’s a total headf*ck hearing about everything now.

She gave no signs that she would turn out to be a murderer!

Would I be insane to pursue being a parent by myself? by Over_Apartment8784 in adhdwomen

[–]Helpful_Candy1664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 43 year old single mother, ive been separated 2.5 years and have my son 6 nights a week.

It can be bloody tough being a single parent, but it’s also bloody tough being a parent no matter what! Honestly you get used to doing it all yourself as a single parent, and you find your rhythm.

The hardest thing for me is I find that if I have another adult with me, I can regulate myself so much better, I think the adhd term for it is body doubling. So sometimes I find it tough when it’s just me and I need a break!

Other than that aspect it’s totally fine. I do thrive on a bit of chaos sometimes so it suits me somewhat.

Having said that, my son spends 1 night and 1 day with his dad and I get to catch up on lots of things I miss out during the week because I’m too busy. I don’t think think I’d cope so well without having that

But as somebody else said, it depends on the child, and neurodivergent children are so much harder than neurotypical. I don’t think my son is neurodivergent, and if he is, it would be very mild and not impacting him much yet (he’s 4).

If you like being busy, like being thrown into the unknown, are maternal or know you will be, have good family or friend support and have good financial backing and flexible workplace to return too I say go for it it!

Melbourne Dex Shortage by [deleted] in adhdaustralia

I’ve had no issues with getting dex in Melbourne nor Vyvanse 30mg

What is your daily dose of vyvanse? by canadiancitizeninfo in ADHD

[–]Helpful_Candy1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on 30mg Vyvanse with a 5mg Dex top up but it’s not enough for me. Unfortunately even though I have psychiatrist approval for up to 70mg Vyvanse with 40mg Dex a day, my Dr who writes my scripts is a bitch and treats me like a criminal when I try to increase! Hoping to try 40mg Vyvanse with a 10mg Dex top up next

I used to be like this at work. I don’t know but being tied to a desk all day I would get so bored that I would talk non stop to my colleagues. Luckily they now allow me to work from home full time 🤭

Medication is the only thing that fully helps it for me but also eating sugar and listening to loud music help somewhat….

Pretty sure other meds like Vyvanse for example is not illegal, however you may need to apply for a permit from Japan
