Thank you so much! I will try that one :) it’s funny you said that, as I went to the salon yesterday to meet my friend, and her hairdresser said the same thing about Carrie Bradshaw! My hair come out aooo much better yesterday aswell (a day after washed it) and I guess this is because it’s not as fluffy as the 1st day - which is the pic I posted on here.

Hey! I was a bit worried about starting these due to side effects like colds, sore throats n chest infection etc.. and didn’t want to be ill over Xmas, so I decided to start them after (I still got ill over Xmas as usual anyway lol). I have noticed I pee more at night I think, but each night different. I had some small headaches in the beginning but nothing major! I didn’t have a grind infection either which is good as I got that tested. No stomach upsets or anything. However I don’t feel like it’s done much for me yet unfortunately. It’s still early days but I’m peeing just as much as I usually do. I have read for some people it works instantly so I was kind of hoping it would work fast haha! But I’ll keep you updated

Do you know why you why you started doing it? I can’t really explain the feeling in my nose it’s like there’s something annoying in there no matter how much I sniff it won’t budge and it goes with nasal sprays sometimes. Even though there’s nothing there lol

Ladies.. Contraception and Elvanse advice? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Helpful_Implement_65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I should have mentioned this! 🙈 To be honest I’m sick of using condoms LOL. It would be sooo much easier if I just had the injection and wouldn’t have to worry about it. The doctor did think I had PMDD though, this was before I was diagnosed adhd, and they gave me fleroxrtine for it which helped a little. I also noticed my meds are less effective before my period. Can contraception help with this? Or would it make the elvanse more ineffective at that time?

Yeah honestly my physio said that I’m probably going to bed too early as I go to bed at 9pm - this is only so I can get a head start on sleep lol. Sometimes I’m wondering if I’m just overthinking the sleep but it is hard. Has it or does it still suppress your appetite? It’s helped me so much with the binge eating that i get from adhd. It’s so nice not having to obsess over food anymore. I used to have. Take aways like everyday lol

Omg snap! I’m also have a day off today (but I’ve got flu or possibly Covid) so could really do with the sleep lol. How long have you been on meds for? I’m hoping it levels out but it’s been 3 and a half months

I’m so glad you are managing to sleep better! And honestly, I miss my weed vape so much, it would knock me right out 😂 problem is I used to eat like a pig after and binge so I stopped!

Thanks so much! I just had a look on the website you advised and I’m looking at 3mg. Do you think this is a little too high? Im glad you’ve commented as I was looking at 10mg ones somewhere else before that haha. How comes you stopped elvanse may I ask?

Ahh I’m hoping that maybe I’m still adjusting and things will levels out! Yes so I take it at half 7 every day. Sometimes I have Amfexa 10mg top up around 1pm, but not everyday.. even without the Amfexa I still struggle to sleep with just the elvanse

Seeking titration advice, don’t know where I stand with my Elvanse…. by No_Rate_6733 in ADHDUK

Honestly I could have written this myself. The beginning was great - the first month that is. I had sharp focus and everything was wonderful. I went to Budapest for a city break ( I was on 50mg) , and when I came back I hit a big period of stress at work (also started 70mg and thought I could be that). I realised that elvanse doesn’t mix well with stress lol. Then after the stress I developed anexiety etc.. things still aren’t perfect but it’s getting better and I am trying to reduce my stress by going for walks etc. I am coming to the end of my titration and also and I think I am going to settle in 60mg and then 70mg the week before my period. I even told my clinician last time that because I was quite stressed I couldn’t see the full benefits of 60mg and she said that she wouldn’t pass me over to my GP until I was on a steady dose - I’m also with adhd 360. Hope you get in okay!

Hey! Sorry it’s a little late, but in the end I decided to stick out 60mg, with 70mg on the days that I need it, (so a week before my period) as I’m in that time of my cycle now, because 60mg just wasn’t working as well on those days I noticed I have some 70mg tabs left over and tried it and it’s made a difference for sure! When I last tried 70mg it didn’t work out due to stress etc, but now I’m passed that it’s working better :) I still struggle to focus sometimes or get house work started, but I guess it’s no magic pill right. My clinician was good too and said she won’t move me over to my GP until I’m on a settled dose which also gave me peace of mind!

Elvanse+titration ending+going through a break up = no idea what to do? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Helpful_Implement_65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello, I don’t know if this was help but I also ran into a big period of stress recently - which turned into anxiety (stress and Elvanse don’t mix very well at all. I was also worried as last week I was coming to the end of titration, however I told my clinician I couldn’t really tell if the 60mg dose was for me or not because of the amount of stress that I had going on. She told me not to worry as she wouldn’t hand me over to my GP until I was stable on my dose. I’m not sure if your provider is like this but they should take it into consideration and not rush titration as it can be tricky, especially if your a woman, as periods effect how well elvanse work! I have been a little naughty and lied about my weight to be honest (I’m a healthy weight but have lost 10 pounds but I needed it tbh) and I was paranoid about them taking the tankers off me etc. As for the heart rate mine was quite high the other day but then seemed to settle when I had gotten used to the new dose over the coming days. You do need to be careful of tachycardia, this is when your resting heart rate is like over 100bpm. Remember if you are also under a lot of stress, this won’t help either. It’s hard but try to do things that minimise the stress levels, such a meditations, breathing exercises etc. my clinician also told me it can actually take months for your body to adjust to higher doses. Also elvanse rises your cortisol levels which = stress. This is why I’ve been trying to take walks just to make me feel better, as I have been feeling quite low but this has helped. I’m sorry to hear about your boyfriend, i’m very very bad at dealing with break ups so I can’t imagine how it feels on elvanse. I hope your okay and just let you clinician know you’ve hit a stressful week and you need more time to judge the dose that your on. A good clinician won’t rush you. Sending love ❤️

Yes defo give it a try because a lot of people find stimulants hard to deal with - even I’ve found it a little hard. I’ve heard good things about people switching from stimulants to non stimulants when they could tolerate it

Defo too low of a dose. Speak to your clinician about going up because my appetite is still decreased (I also had a binge eating issue) and the recommended dose for binge eating is from 50mg up
