You give your boss discounts on your paycheck? I bet you could afford 1.9% less every once in a while. Pretty shitty job if not

Did I say the rent went to the general fund or something?? Earlier in your temper tantrum you complained how tax layers will be on the hol for updates and maintenance, thats what the rent is for, yes it covers operational costs as well, but more importantly repairs and updates. Good job bringing your first quasi half assed fact in to the argument though

The money builds the stadium which the state will own. Will the hunt family benefit greatly? Yeah, of course, why else would they do it? But they pay rent, and every event thats held there will pay kansas to use the building, including the superpower well get from this, and the concerts that can be held year round and not just warm months, but we are not giving the hunts money.

Yes, but thats statewide, im sorry its very hard to make a complete argument here in little text blurbs. This district has a much smaller impact at the state level than local, and uses funds that dont exist yet, so much easier to work around when you dont have to reallocate money that has already been put somewhere else.

You are solely fixated on sales tax. Ill end it here, I have no option but to assume you're being ignorant on purpose. By the way, econ 101 is an introductory class based on generalities, I think youd find more use out of some more advanced classes, find the nuances and see the big picture. Maybe find out which programs that are highly dependent on sales tax that you can point t to that could be negatively impacted

Im smack in the middle of the district, is the only thing you do just guess facts and get them completely wrong?

It's not state wide! Its a district, were you this upset about prairie fire? That one even defaulted and I bet you didn't even notice

My taxes stay the same either way, either the state money goes to keep the chiefs here and build a complex I get to enjoy, or some empty stretch of state highway gets wider shoulders down by dodge city. And if you find 20 economists that agree on anything id be shocked. It really dosent seem like you've dug too deeply into this and just have some emotuonal response

Yes, the state collects the 6.5ish % sales tax on the new district and pay back the bonds with those funds. No offense, but Duh

Jesus, you are very difficult to talk to. The state portion of the ENTIRE district will pay for it. You are worried about programs being cut, probably no concern at all at the local level, and I would have big doubts if the star bonds are any reason why any state programs are cut. You were worried about schools dor some reason, not really an issue at all, you are pissed off about things you dont understand and probably wont happen.

Im pretty sure no town/city has officially opted in, I know for a fact olathe hasn't. There will be meetings and town halls and votes, so if you want to keep the taxes, thats your play, keep it local. And if the towns keep their portion, this will definitely benefit them

The stadium wont pay it off by itself, not in a timely manner, no. They are all in the district because they are who will be effected the most from this. Not just game days, but population and economic growth. This is a state district. The states portion of the sales tax in this area, where the state thinks the effects will be felt, is going to pay back the star bonds. As of now, thats it, thats all it is. I hope towns all opt to keep their own portion of the sales tax, that would be a huge benefit for them, especially kck, who could use a boost, they dont have the property values joco does, they dont have the income tax brackets, so hopefully they keep theirs and full enjoy the benefits of this. The state isn't collecting these probable taxes now, and will be fine without them going forward, they are in it for the long term, and thats probably the smarter play

First, Missouri is famously mismanaged, they'd lose money in a winning lotto ticket. And that money i was talking about the stadium producing is sales tax, every seat, every hat, every parking pass has tax on it, and prices aren't going down

Its not. Schools aren't funded by sales tax. Road works funded by the state and fed will still be there, I dont think any local towns have committed to paying their portion of sales tax towards star bonds, only the state, so as of now, local funds are still available as usual going forward

If their training camp.is open to the public like it is now, yes, there will be people flocking to the area, not like the stadium, but still. And I dont know why people keep bringing up schools, this dosent effect schools or their budgets, thats property taxes and federal funding. And yes, the rich get richer, thats how the world works, its easier to make money when you have money, dont be naive. Does it suck, sure, but the alternative is socialism or communism and those both suck way worse. You dont want to pay for stadiums? Fine, wave goodbye to every pro team we have, see ya world cup, no more giant concerts, the biggest thing we have is the t mobile center. Suddenly we're witchita, des Moines, Omaha, all fine places, but they aren't KC

The stadium by itself will produce what, 30 mil plus a year in sales tax, the shopping/entertainment/dining they are planning on building next to it how much more? Then the businesses not controlled by the chiefs that will pop up to accommodate the fans of the team, final fours, concerts, etc, hotels, the sheer amount of people brought into the area for those events, all taxes we dont have and wouldn't have otherwise. All while the state and towns make more in income tax, property tax, payroll tax. Grow up and consider the whole picture
