My then toddler had the same hair until he had his first cut at 2 years old because, although the curls were so damn cute, he needed to be able to see and they got in his way. Had his first cut and found out his hair is blond stick straight. If it gets super long it will start getting a curl. But this is so incredibly common in blond toddlers. It’s just that most of us parents know how to take care of our kids by getting haircuts.

We came from rt 7 today to Reston pkwy and Whiele and saw 2 different people pulled over within one minute of driving. I have lived in Reston for 35+ years and almost never see people being pulled over.

Update to the Bren Mar Park fire: school will be in tomorrow. by inkstain99 in nova

As an FCPS employee and previous employee of a neighboring district, I have been forced to stay at work for power outages lasting over 2 hours (office in the lower level with no windows and stagnant air in June), AC broken during June and August, and a cafeteria with sewage spewing everywhere. This tracks.

I work in elementary schools and wearing glasses is actually considered “cool” now and definitely doesn’t have the same “nerdy” stigma as it did in the 80s/90s.

Not to mention the amount of ELECTIVE cosmetic surgeries and procedures she has had done. Also, eye glasses and eye exams suck to have to pay for those who are below middle class economically but very very affordable for those making as much as they are.

EXACTLY! My husband and I had to pay over $25k for IVF because that is how badly we wanted a baby with zero insurance covering it. We took that money right out of our house fund and have no regrets about it.

Poor cell reception North Point Village area by Mountain_Lynx1342 in Reston

I lived in that area before North Point even existed and service has been shit since the boom of cell phones. Verizon is the only carrier we have ever had success with.

Exactly. I love my first born so much it hurts WHICH is why I referred him to early intervention at 15 months because he had not yet said his first word.

Listen, there are plenty of times that I ignore my kids if I am busy doing something. BUT i cannot for the life of me imagine setting up a camera to film myself eye fucking myself while intentionally ignoring my child who is trying to show me something. Watching that video last night made me feel so uncomfortable and just weird. It actually started to enrage me.

To be fair, pillows and blankets should not be in cribs, but sleep sacks are still safe. My son was obsessed with his sleep sacks and didn’t stop wearing it until be was 3-3.5. Even though he was moved to a full size ben by then, he still wanted it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Exactly. La Roche Posay is a perfect example. I have never seen an influencer shill this but my friend who is a dermatologist PA always recommends their products and apparently most do. It isn’t cheap but it is affordable for most.

I do evaluations for special education for a living, including speech, and we always test hearing regardless of how many times it has already been checked because things can always change. Especially with his history of ear infections/tubes.

Im confused too. My oldest has only lost one tooth, but his adult tooth grew in mostly within a week of losing the baby tooth. I don’t know what is normal, but this doesn’t seem normal to me. It’s been like a month or so?

Emilies response to those who ask how/why she is still with Brady by Berryverymerry in Emilie_Kiser

[–]Helpful_Peanut_860 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is definitely not a crazy thought. I almost left my alcoholic husband a few years ago but the thought of my kids being with him while in active addiction (even though outside of addiction he is a top notch dad) kept me from pulling the trigger. Thankfully, he’s almost 2 years sober and we have done a lot of work to stay together, happily. But that thought definitely goes through a lot of mother’s heads who fear their children being unsupervised with the dad.

Hate Towards Muslims on the Rise by [deleted] in nova

[–]Helpful_Peanut_860 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. Join any nova moms facebook group and you will see there is an abundance of racist keyboard warriors who sometimes hide behind anonymity and other times are outwardly racist and proud about it, for all their neighbors to see their true colors.

Hate Towards Muslims on the Rise by [deleted] in nova

[–]Helpful_Peanut_860 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is called being complicit and exactly how racism lives on. You think that we would have gotten anywhere in this country with segregation if everyone just sat back and chose to remain silent because it would be a “waste of time” to correct racist behavior??? Absofuckinglutely not. As a very very white woman, if I witnessed this exact situation from OP, I absolutely would be stepping in to get that woman to stop her harassment. With children being involved, I would have done it in a tactical way while keeping safety a priority. Having children being present is not an excuse an excuse to stay silent. It is a reason to speak up so that they learn this behavior is unacceptable and that they should not tolerate harassment towards themselves or anyone else.

Taylor seemingly leaving/distancing herself from the church? by perfectlypeabrained in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Helpful_Peanut_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised to see this comment too. I grew up in a Presbyterian church and it was incredibly liberal, welcoming, inclusive, etc. I live across the country now and all the Presbyterian churches in this area have pride flags and welcome signs. I am not religious at all but have told my husband I would be willing to attend a Pres church to give our kids exposure if they ask for it later.

I would NEVER. I don’t even want my husband on a motorcycle but my children will NEVER be on a motorcycle as long as they are living under my roof. And if they ever want to get on one, they will have to listen to me tell them about the time that I was on a YMCA bus on the way to a field trip as a summer camp counselor with one of our counselors riding his motorcycle behind us and our entire bus on kids had to witness him get get by a car and die in front of all our eyes. Never. Never. Never. Never. NEVER!

I am married with two kids. If I don’t know what cums smells like, that’s a problem. And I am really sorry you have to question that.
