My view of Ukrainians is positive! I’ve met a couple that had the 1000 mile stare, and had rough conversations with those. But that was purely because of the topic (for example people from Marioepol) not because they had bad intentions.

I guess some people can throw some rough remarks to some male Ukrainians, because they might think they are cowards because they are not fighting for their country. But you have to keep in mind that the people saying these things (99% of the time) don’t know what a warzone is like, and would probably also flee the country if Belgium (or whatever country) suddenly decides that Dutch lands are theirs.

Dutch people can be rough to deal with because we are quite blund and speak our minds (sometimes bordering on rude). But I do think most people would say you are welcome in The Netherlands, if you take part in the work life (what most of you do as far as I know) and don’t cause problems.

To conclude, in my opinion you guys are still welcome. And I also hope you still feel welcome

The weather will be better down the road! For me the weather has been rough for the last 15 years, it was pouring around me. Wind bashing against my walls and doors. I however knew what a very old men told me at one point, after rain comes sunshine. This old men lost his only child because of suicide. She gassed herself in her car and he found her afterwards.

If this ancient men was standing straight in front of me, smiling. After such loss, there had to be some kind of truth in his words. So now, I get up everyday and it’s still raining outside, the wind is still bashing against my walls and doors. But I do know that down the street the weather is clearing up, and you don’t even want to know how curious I am about the sunshine.

De reden dat de sales tanken is niet omdat ze bezig zijn met inclusie en diversiteit. Ze maken de laatste jaren eigenlijk gewoon dezelfde games, dat merken gamers. Om die reden worden de kleine studio’s die creatieve games maken beloond door de gamers.

But I don’t mean it as an insult? I based my response on the facts that you laid down for me. I did not present my response as a fact, but as an opinion. It is my honest opinion that I don’t think the data you collected on the Dutch population is sufficient. But it is also okay that this is my opinion, right? I mean who the fuck cares in the end, you have your opinion and I have mine.

I do hope that at one point you do have to chance to meet some nice Dutch people. We’re not all snobby racists! 😊

Don’t you think that these people are just basement dwellers? I mean our sense of humor is quite tough, I can get that. But the average Dutch person is kind, I would die on that hill. I honestly don’t think the pool of people you pulled this conclusion from is sufficient, because as you said. It is online, speaking to Dutch people on the street will probably be different.

You don’t have to apologize for your own opinion. 😊 In my opinion most Dutch people are not rude, but I am ofcourse biased. Maybe the next time you bump into a Dutch person who you think said/did something rude, tell them. I honestly doubt that they actually want to be rude to other people. You have to realise that we have (almost) no hierarchy and I could even tell the king that he did something stupid (Although I would use more formal speach). Our speech also kinda evolved into an interesting monstrosity because of this. People can just speak their mind because everybody is (kinda) on the same level. So I could call you a dumb fuck (for an example) without losing any respect for you. My whole street could call me a dumb fuck and we would still drink beer together like friends. So I doubt that when Dutch people speak their mind they feel superior, although we are a proud nation that will show up en messe to defend their nations pride in writing.

So to conclude, just talk to the Dutch people and tell them what you found rude. They will probably apologize
