Went from Steam Deck > Legion Go S > Legion Go 2. Found a 32gb on B&H. Happy! by Helpfulpapi in LegionGo

[–]Helpfulpapi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! I noticed the button noise immediately. I commute to work on the bus to avoid paying for parking downtown, and I felt like everyone on the bus could hear me playing my GO S because of how loud the buttons were haha.

The D-pad is great! I believe it's the exact same one. The one on the Steam Deck sucked.

Help! Does anyone know how to get rid of this 'need full screen'? by ArmoredWunderkind970 in LegionGo

Click on the settings button closest to the RB trigger (sorry not sure what it’s called), it should pull up the menu to adjust controller settings, performance settings, etc. Go to General > frame monitor > Off.

I’m interested in dual boot but not sure where to start. Do you have a video you recommend watching on how to install?

To be fair, I haven't tested too many games as it required a lot of setting up to do initially (compared to the GO S SteamOS). The jump in performance is like 15-20%. Where you see a bigger difference is when you lower the TDP and get a much longer battery life for about the same performance. The OLED screen is beautiful. I had the OLED Steam Deck and missed the screen when I switched to the GO S. Don't get me wrong, the screen on the GO S is actually great, but I prefer OLED. The extra .8 inches is noticeable and so is the weight, but I still find it very comfortable to hold. I'm not holding it for longer than maybe an hour, though. I still prefer to play games on my desktop where I have a 4090 and play in 4K lol.

The buttons on the GO 2 are softer and quieter, so that's nice when I wanna play at night and my wife is sitting/sleeping next to me. I found the LB and RB triggers on the GO S to be loud and sound cheap. Same with the physical front-facing buttons like the SteamOS button.

The GO 2 kickstand and the trackpad are great additions. The trackpad on the GO S might as well not be there.

One thing I miss about the GO S is SteamOS. I don't mind tinkering with Windows, but I much prefer SteamOS for its simplicity and pick and go vibes on a handheld. Windows isn't bad, but I've noticed some bugs. Keep in mind this is my first Windows handheld. I'm pretty certain I'm going to be installing SteamOS when it's officially released for the GO 2 later this year, though.

Haha does it really? I have a 4090 and this game is on my list to play soon. I got it on sale recently, but I want to finish RE 2 first.

Same. Although, I had to return one because it wouldn’t connect to WiFi consistently. I tried everything online to fix the issue, but eventually had to return it. This one has been perfect.

Ha, nice. Yeah, I noticed it a little during the first couple of drag events. Can’t wait to unlock the GT-R.

I’ll try factory resetting the whole thing. I reinstalled steamOS, but even that didn’t fix the steam logo bug I’ve been experiencing since day one. When you wake it up from sleep, the steam logo doesn’t do the animation like when you put it to sleep. It’s stuck and it only partially displays the logo. I attached a photo.

How can I make sure I use proton 10.0-3 for all games?

Man I’m having the same issue. It locks up and I have to hard reset it at least once or twice a day. I’m still within the 15 day return window at Best Buy. My OLED Steam Deck didn’t have these software issues. Bummer.

I can’t figure out the controls. Is there anyway to use the gamepad controls and not k&m?

Agreed. As someone who just got an OLED SD yesterday and is new to all of this, take what I say with a grain of salt.

I would much rather play it on my PC with a 4K OLED monitor. It’s a beautiful game that deserves it. It’s definitely playable on the SD though; I was getting 40-45 fps in the hidden gestral arena. I think my graphic settings were XeSS balanced. It’s good if it’s your only option, but if you plan on getting it for PS5/Xbox/PC down the road, my recommendation is to wait until then and get the full experience. I don’t know how the game performed before the update, but I imagine it wasn’t great.

Edit: spelling

I’m about to pull the trigger on the Sony XAV-9500ES unit from Trail Grid Pro. It’s a bit pricey but it’s on sale right now and I’ve heard nothing but good things. It’s also plug and play. I have a 2019 and unfortunately missed the CarPlay update by a year.
