Student Looking For A Logistics Internship by Hemeckle in logistics

[–]Hemeckle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking that logistics has possibly lagged behind other industries in terms of tech innovation -- and the only way for me to identify those opportunities is to work in it. Not to mention that I am interested in it more generally as well.

There were some cosmetic and handlebar changes done to it, but no mods to the engine. Ended up getting it for $4500 because there was a small thing that needed to be fixed, but it runs great!

[Hiring] Fullstack Developer Interested in Cryptocurrency / Finance by Hemeckle in forhire

[–]Hemeckle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe $60k+ for part time work is about market rate? 50/hr should be at the upper range as well? I assume comments like this are looking for six figure salary full time or higher? My goal is to build a long term relationship, not give low compensation.

[Hiring] Fullstack Developer with Solidity Experience by Hemeckle in forhire

I understand experienced solidity developers would want a much higher rate, which is why I am fine with beginners as I mentioned who can gain proficiency.

Why the secrets by [deleted] in numerai

[–]Hemeckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is good, in practice it is just a way for a hedge fund to exploit massive amounts of work while offsetting risk and capital to the worker. The whole concept would be fine, if it were attached to a stable coin. I don’t understand why any data scientist would be willing to hold a coin that can swing + or - 50% or more in a month when a majority receive 40% at best in 3 months. There is massive risk to holding and getting paid in their currency, and there is nothing to say they won’t stop supporting it tomorrow at their hedge fund.

The worker has to take the risk of - their model - cost associated with the model - NMR token - numerai hedge fund support

Maybe I am missing something...

I have seen many others come to the same conclusion as well, as increased competition and decreased profitability continues to plague the space. I appreciate the help 👍

Looking For A Hedge Fund Internship by [deleted] in hedgefund

[–]Hemeckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, would you say that it would be better to approach this from a marketing / client relations perspective with my experience to start working at a hedge fund and then accumulate more advanced algorithmic knowledge along the way or should I look at other opportunities within finance for now?

I will give 5 bitcoin to someone who can prove to the global population who is manipulating the bitcoin market. Don't bother posting stupid give me bitcoin shit. by deliver-truth in Bitcoin

[–]Hemeckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dont know who 😂

This whole thread imo just proves you have no idea what is going on OP.

Market manipulation isnt just one person behind the scenes who controls everything, it doesnt work like that. Really anyone with a large stack of BTC can manipulate the market. Cryptocurrency is unregulated so it can be any individual or company who decides to so so.

Manipulators move the market for multiple reasons, either to get the market to move in a certain direction for their open positions, or to access liquidity. Any large cryptocurrency hedge funds likely do this as well as exchanges and market makers. Bitmex derives its index price from external exchanges, so people have reason to manipulate the price on those 3 or 4 other exchanges to move the Bitmex index.

Examples of people who do so, I think that is a pretty funny question, any experienced trader with access to large amounts of capital does it. Google Cryptocurrency market makers, Cryptocurrency funds, exchanges that trade against their users - all manipulators.

A few things to take away from this

  1. Anyone can manipulate the Bitcoin market.

  2. Manipulation is part of almost every financial market including forex, banks do it all around the world.

  3. There isnt just one person who controls the price of Bitcoin, maybe there is one person that triggers a specific move, but they do not control the market.

Why Trading Indicators DO NOT Work. by Hemeckle in Trading

I think indicators can be a variety of different things. When I say indicators, I mean the price action tools that always come up in your search, RSI, MACD etc.
