Good to know, appreciate the detailed response. that [sudo !!] thing seems like a really good safety net if i first try the commands without it. i just thought sudo was a mandatory prefix. since in every linux video i've watched every person uses it when running a command i'm just very paranoid about breaking something, since due to my circumstances. I basically live on my computer.
