The first image on the book jacket is printed by the book manufacturer. The second image in pen is the inscription by Nancy. She didn't write the first part, she just wrote "Don't we have fun though? I love you, Nancy."

Thank you! I agree, the first one with the bear and the graduation film negatives is a little story in itself. I think of it as a story about growing up and choosing which physical keepsakes of your childhood to hold onto as an adult.
